Need help in bathroom floor tile choices
Comments (29)Zaz and Beth, I finally have some samples on my floor to look at (from the Tile Shop) and that's helpful, but it's a pain in the b*** to figure out what samples to order and from whom to order them - and expensive too! I could probably order an equal number of interesting samples from Merola/Home Depot, not to mention the additional ideas you've both now given me, but at some point I need to stop. Even though I feel I've 'narrowed' my focus to something with blue and/or patterned-moroccan-style, there are still so many options and resources to look at. I do like all the additional examples you gave me, Beth. Is EliteTile considered a good quality resource? I have felt comfortable having a retail face to consult with (Tile Shop and Home Depot) but if you and Zaz and others with more experience feel it can be ok to order from a place like Wayfair and this brand of tile, then I feel more confident about that. Both Tile Shop and HD have nice options too, but I've been a bit frustrated that I haven't been able to see an actual sample of a large-size cobalt option .... and the nice on sale lantern blue one is beautiful. What a price, too!! Weirdly, as I look more closely at the Wayfair/EliteTile Moroccan tiles, I'm seeing several that are the exact same patterns that Merola/HomeDepot offer. Do either of you know anything about this? I'd kind of like to add pictures of the samples I have from Tile Shop to see what you both think, but it might need to wait until tomorrow since this day is over and I'm beat. (Also, have other things in addition to tile shopping which I'm sure you both can relate to.) I am grateful to have both of you to converse with on this. Feel more comfortable....See MoreCondo design dilemma- This ugly thing needs help and love!
Comments (10)I think that sectional is really nice for your space. There are lots of sectional haters on this site, but many of us who have them, love them. It's a nice scale and will give you lots of lounging space, as well as seating without so many arms (as with sofa + chairs) taking up space. You could probably (it looks like it) add an armchair or small recliner if you want one, where the wood armchair is now (by the sliding door). Not sure what color you're thinking but that green in the ad is yummy and would look nice in the forest setting. Maybe an upholstered chair in a print with green an blue to bring in the water element you want - also pillows and rug to bring them all together. Have fun! eta: I see in rereading you're thinking of greige for the sectional. If you want it to be more fun than your home, I'd rethink that and commit to a color. Something that would be more fun on a dark, dreary day than greige. From your Pinterest board...look how yummy and fun this color is - this would warm you up on a cold, snowy day:...See MoreHelp me design my Colorado condo! I need major assistance!
Comments (17)When you say you are doing a light, natural floor - are you talking about a wood-look light colored floor to cover the whole space? I think that is a good idea, and warm colors are trending again. Pale, washed oak (sometimes cerused) and aged pine are really pretty and there are good options in LVT in these looks. The fireplace - is it wood or gas? Any chance it is super dark due to soot accumulation? I don't know how to clean it, but I bet it is worth a try. Now ... if it is an obviously faux stone that looks like what a 3rd grader made with old clay ... then revamping it is a good idea. I think using the SAME material as the kitchen counters might be too contemporary looking. What about a handmade tile that echoes the backsplash in the kitchen?...See MoreCondo remodel: Help us avoid mistakes!
Comments (51)One thing I’m struggling with (might make sense to do a separate post) is the master bedroom and dressing area. I know I want rugs there and under the bed, but not sure if they should match? Coordinate? Also wondering about a room divider. The previous owners had IKEA track panels and they look much nicer in the photo than in real life. I’m not really a fan of barn doors, plus there are currently door on 3/4 walls, so adding another doesn’t seem like a great idea. So maybe get track panels again, but mount them differently?.. And I have zero ideas about a light fixture to replace the way too low swagged chandelier they used to have. Here are the old listing photos and current status...See MoreRelated Professionals
