I've searched and searched the lovely web looking for a gooseneck wall sconce kit. I want to make a wall sconce with adjustable, gooseneck style lights that I will be able to use to make a wood/natural wall sconce. Finding a kit seems to be the first problem. We have a natural wood bedroom set and need adjustable lighting on the wall behind us to read. Any help finding a gooseneck light kit would be helpful! Thanks! Dana

Give or take a 1\16th its a 1\4 inch. We got the faucet early and on sale - bought it based on internet pics. Wasn't until I unpacked it that I realized we might have a problem. We kept it in mind throughout the process (we had the light rail cut down and the filler between the cupboards and soffet was kept as small as possible). Another inch would have been great but it worked out fine. I'm a pragmatist we didn't make any major mistakes or ommissions, the space turned out to be pretty interesting and we were only slightly over budget so it's all good with me (my Mom loves the faucet so no complaints from her either).

I was afraid of that. That presents difficulties since I would have to have someone (a professional...not my area of expertise, real or imagined) wire it to the outlet in the garden, but in such a way as to be able to (a) turn the light on and off with a switch near the house, and yet (b) still allow me to independently turn off the fountain (plugged into one of the switchable sockets in the garden outlet) from a different switch near the house. I guess something like that must be possible. But it certainly takes the "Y" out of my "DIY." One question I have: I have two fountains...both with UL approval etc...and they both have plugs. Both are thus presumed to be able to be plugged into a weatherproof socket in the garden. So, is it the case that the rules/policies for permanent lights is different than the rules/policies for permanent fountains? Or do we somehow pretend that the fountain isn't 'permanent'? Thanks! My house was hit by a hailstorm and I'm having to make big decisions quickly. I really don't want to screw up - a lot of these decision will have to last 10+ years and each decision might influence the others. I'm very excited not to have a pink house much longer! I'm leaning towards a creamy white with black accents and wood-looking garage doors? Here's what's going on: - the roof has already been replaced and I went with a dark charcoal shingle. From the street you can't really see my roof - New Milgard French Doors were installed in the back. The exterior is black and somewhat modern - There are two big picture windows that are newish - they are white. Right now they are basic white. - there's no front porch and you can't see the front door to paint it a fun color. - there's not much architectural interest to the house. Will white be too bland? - the windows in the front don't have enough space to put shutters on Decisions I need to make: - exterior paint color - garage doors. It will probably be a couple years before I can afford new ones, but I want to paint my house with new ones in mind. - windows - black or white? I love my new black French doors and I was thinking of getting black windows, but they're much more expensive. Much more. I appreciate any and all help and feedback!
