I have a Wolf convection steam oven and love it. It's not plumbed, which you probably already know. It has occasionally run out of water while cooking but when that happens, the oven beeps, opens the door to the water reservoir automatically and displays a message to fill the tank. When I remember to check that the water tank is full before cooking, I haven't had a problem with it running out during use.

I am at a keyboard now, so I can write a little more. Basically, once you select a program or setting that requires steam, the oven tells you to fill the water container. Once you finish the cooking cycle, the oven will alert you to refill the water container and empty the condensate container so that it can complete the auto rinse. The auto rinse is optional, but it helps with odors. When the auto rinse is complete, you empty the condensate container again. It can be a little awkward, and I'm not as crazy about the lift panel functionality as I was when I saw it demo'd. I think the UI could be a little better with that, because you have to press the lift panel button AND the on-screen "OK" to close the panel. Pair that with having to press "OK" when you change out the water and condensate containers, and it seems like a lot of button pressing when the panel is lifted.

@pglover19 Oven wall behind broiler element is definitely harder to clean, but that's also a deciding factor if you want broiler element in steam combi oven that can be used with steam at the same time, or if you can live without broiler element and have smooth oven walls with few interruption that are easier to clean. If I am not mistaken, wolf (as well as v-zug) steam combi oven also does not have top and bottom heating element. Anyway, if you get a Miele pyro oven that has moisture plus feature, you can always opt for doing spattering food in the pyro oven. I am from Australia, if you got confused with hvtech42's comment.

Hi Grace, I love my Poggenpohl kitchen!! I worked with Ellen Mclean at the 23rd street showroom i NYC and she was amazing. The design and craftmanship are outstanding.The kitchen both looks great and functions really well. I have the Segmento model with integrated refrigerator and dishwasher which I recommend.I have the Miele combi steam oven and the 30 inch convection. Both fantastic. I have the Master chef oven that has the rotisserie capability and have used that often. The auto roast function is well worth the oven-have made perfect roasts.I have gone to some cooking classes at the Miele Exoerience center and they are so helpful with information and recipes. I am so happy I went with the Miele appliances. I have the 36" wolf contemporary cooktop which is flush with counter- looks good in my kitchen island. If I can, I will post some photos.
