My house has developed a strange smell, but only in one area - in the foyer right inside the front door. In my town, we have a bread company that emits this not-unpleasant smell of bread, and the smell in my foyer smells exactly like this. I cannot figure out what is causing it! It's not necessarily a bad smell, but it's obvious to me any time I walk through that area. My Google search tells me it's mold, but I have looked everywhere in my house and cannot find any mold. My house is 5 years old and this is the first occurrence of this. Also, we were recently out of town for the weekend and I expected to come home and have this smell hit me in the face, but nothing! This leads me to believe it may have something to do with our washer (top loader) or one of the bathrooms. (Laundry room is next to the foyer and guest bathroom is near the front door -- although neither of these areas has the smell.)
