Need advice - patio door coverings
Comments (15)Parma, I love your WT, so pretty! Kismet, do you sew? Or have you found a good site for ready mades? Or do you want to hire custom mades? I think I would cover the windows to either side of the slider with the same drapes IF those windows are quite close. But that might require a very special custom made rod and HUGE curtains. To get your drapes/curtains to clear your slider, you just have to mount the rod so it's several inches wider than your window, allowing room to pull the drapes clear back off the windows. Maybe there is room for drapes to gather up opened between your slider and the windows? Another choice is to use some type of blinds (Roman, Balloon, Austrian, etc) that pull down from the top. That could look very pretty. The windows could also be grouped all together with one valance, again if they're close. Hard to advise without seeing a picture. Can you post one?...See MoreNeed advice on a curtain rod for a patio door very tight to cabinetry
Comments (8)You can do a rod and leave the finial off of that side and have it butt into the cabinet. Or there are rods with finials that are thin and flat on the end. Pottery Barn has some. Bed Bath & Beyond has some, and I’m sure numerous places do. You could do a French return rod, so no finials. You could do a ceiling mounted rod. There are lots of options....See MoreTampa Landscaping around Patio/grill area need advice
Comments (2)I don't consider a grill on a patio an eye sore. But a grill off the patio in the dirt or mud? Yes! Why don't you extend the patio and give the grill a permanent place to "live." Along the garage wall between the two windows at the left side seems a reasonable place....See MoreBlack sliding patio doors - advice
Comments (8)Black is always a large upgrade. 1K would be cheap for that. Your new construction needs to 100% match the existing home’s construction. It doesn’t need to scream ADDITION, which it will, with black anything. Worse, it says, “SO 2020 undesigned”. Additions should be designed so that they look like they were part of the original structure. What does your architect say about going rogue with the fad look?...See Moreoberon476
