thanks rustyj14 i have a old one i am working on but i want to get my garden up so untill it gets going i have to do the best with what i have and very little money well thanks for the advice it was not any of the stuff i was told to look at but from lifting up the rear end to get where i could see the transaxle i got alot better look at the clutch pulley and there was a plastic pulley and it was melted almost in half so it was a cheep pulley if the small town i live in would off had the part so i went to tractor supply and got a steal pulley the right size just had to do a little machining on a bushing and it worked great problem fixed but if it had not been for you telling me to look at the transaxle i would have never seen the pulley from that angle so thank you very much for the help

I mostly use 10w-30 Mobil 1 in my 160cc Honda (GCV160.) Sometimes if I haven't had any around I've used the 5w-30 I have for the car. Mine is on its third season now. Still starts on the first pull and doesn't burn oil. I think my use is a little extreme compared to the average homeowner. So far this weekend I have filled the gas tank and run it dry four times and there probably isn't much left on that fifth tank. That's about nine hours of mowing. One thing to watch on that engine is dust getting past the air cleaner. Some grease on the blue rubber sealing surface of the paper element seems to put a stop to that.

Realize that the new model TORO is likely is not the same quality as your 16 year old one! Case in point, my 14 year old Toro has some issue I can't figure out. She starts but blows some blue smelly smoke at first. She seems a bit underpowered and once run for a while it won't restart till it cools off. I tried a new coil...no luck. She has been retired to mulching leaves. Still 14 years!!! The new Toro has a Chinese engine...not sure how long it will last but its been fine for a couple of years now. Don't get me wrong, it seems way more study than Pop's $399 Honda jobber that cant mulch for crap...but its not quite the unit I bought 14 years ago. Funny, its cheaper now than back then!

Hi TomPlum and thanks for the reply. I purchased it this afternoon and it should be delivered within the week. I know its Hondas cheap engine but the price was great and I noticed Toro, Husqvarna etc are using this engine as well so it couldn't be all that bad.
