Andersen patio door - sliding or retractable screen?
Comments (3)I know I'm late to the conversation here but I just wanted to follow up in case anyone else had the same question. Retractable screens are just as durable as fixed screens but much more pleasing to look at. A quality retractable screen, like the Plisse by Screen Solutions inc, should come with a lifetime warranty that provides peace of mind when investing the associated money into your home. Check out www.plissescreen.com and see for yourself why retractable screens, and in particular the Plisse retractable screen, are a better choice than traditional fixed screens. Comments (36)I visited the showroom with the Kolbe windows today. They had a casement set up with both the hinged screen (left), and the pull down (right). Here they are both closed: Here is the retractable screen open. You can see the black brush border that is the bottom of the screen piece here: And a shot of it half pulled down (it won't stay in this position, it either lock in place at the very bottom or shoots back up like a roller shade) But you can at least see how much frame it has. I didn't get to ask about how easy it is to repair or replace, or what the upcharge is per window. (This is a lumberyard, and they're not terribly interested in people who wander in off the street - they pretty much sell to contractors. We'll be meeting with their window guy later and I'll ask then) (Edited to fix the photos)...See MoreBrio or Phantom retractable screen?
Comments (10)Hi, I’m in AZ and have a stacking three panel sliding door going to my patio. Two panels (6’ total for panels) stack on the inside of the third panel which is stationary. I’ve contacted local vendors for both Phantom and Wizard and I can’t find much customer feedback/reviews on Wizard Vistaview. Curious if anyone has any feedback they can share. My concern with going with Phantom is that I would have two housing units one in left and one on right that I would have to pull to middle creating more visual lines but also since I have two movable panels, if I want to only open one panel (3ft) instead of two panels being open (6ft), I still have to pull both screens to keep the bugs out otherwise there is a gap from only pulling one screen across. Otherwise I have to get the Phantom XL which would be mounted on the outside of the 3rd stationary panel and then in order to use the screen I would pull it across all three panels. So at this point believe I’m leaning towards The Wizard Vistaview. Anyone heard any customer feedback about Wizard Screens?...See MoreRetractable screen options without needing side guides
Comments (2)Hoping someone comments on this as we need a screen/weather protective panel for a covered patio that doesn't need posts on either side. We unfortunately had a design snafu that wasn't discovered until after the build was complete and we only have one post for the space we need protection from the elements....See Moregwen1
