Help with Hosta ID--Plant 1
Comments (6)Hi, again, Karen, too!! I'm pretty sure that is one of the 'Undulata's'! There are some variations of it, but I'd say it's definitely in that family!...See MoreUnfurling favourite hosta photos
Comments (112)NHL, flattery, schmattery, you don't give yourself enough credit! If only professional photographers entered, what would be the point? I say, GO FOR IT! You won a leaf exhibition! I bet you thought you wouldn't win that (am I right?) ....but you entered anyway. It's up to you, I can't make you (would that I could, lol) but if you keep producing such stunning photos, expect me NOT to stay quiet!!! :-) Isn't it enough encouragement to get kudos from Steve Shaw and LUUK??? Your biggest fan, Jo...See MoreTrying to ID the hostas I inherited. Would you help, please?
Comments (26)It was. We were also lucky that there wasn't much else in the yard-- so we had some good building blocks AND a clean slate at the same time. The perfect place to land for someone with a Japanese maple obsession. ;) I'm now thinking #2 isn't Paul's Glory, but Old Glory. The blue edges don't stand out as much on mine, at any time of year, as they seem to in Paul's Glory photos here in the forum. The margins on mine also seem thinner than the ones on Paul's Glory. When I look at Old Glory, it seems more familiar. They're all so similar to an untrained eye-- it's maddening and fascinating at the same time....See MoreHelp me ID these Hostas, please!
Comments (5)Hi Ken, You are right - they really are getting too much sun right now, but they are planted below some trees that should be filling in soon and providing shade. The park is in Western Massachusetts. What I mostly like is the size of the leaves. I actually prefer a variegation rather than a plain color leaf. Right now I have a good sized Sum & Substance, and some Earth Angels that are helping fill in spaces nicely, but I'd love some more dramatic ones, so please, blow my socks off! :) Thanks!...See Morehostas_for_barb
