Small living room with front door-need furniture arrangement help!
Comments (13)I wouldn't do that fireplace surround. It's jus not a good look w/the type room/decor you have. try it elsewhere. try craigslist and similar sources for rugs, tables, shelving. as for the room layout, for the wall that's next to the doorway, and to the right of window (pic #3 up top) what if you did some cool shelving or book cases? I'd also look into doing some sort of shade or blind instead of those bulky drapes. This is a simple layout you could copy. a larger sofa w/a chaise would work for that room better than your two sofas. if doing a tv, try a shallow console and mount the tv to the wall. you can do a 'coffee table' by utilizing an ottoman or something similar. this type of sofa against the large windows would work out better. notice the blinds, nice contrasting paint color on the walls, colorful rug, potted plants. same layout. Imagine your windows are behind the sofa. shallow shorter shelving on the opposing wall is great for kids toys and books. mount tv. fabric ottoman for coffee table. neutral rug....See MoreSmall Dark Living Room Needs Help!
Comments (1)IKEA sells great linen curtains for very affordable prices. I would get white! I made my curtain rods out of electrical conduit and spray painted them black. Love the slip cover idea, a big mirror could fill the space or a gallery wall of art but picture frames get so expensive! Two matching chairs (diff light shade than the couch) and you’d be set...See MoreNeed Layout Help!! Front door opens into small living room.
Comments (14)I like your rearrangement. Now for suggestions.....The coffee table is too big. I would like to see a round ottoman there. I would put your little mirrors around the bookcase...three to each side. Get a end table with lamp for the end of your couch nearest the dining room. Maybe a tall plant on the other end of your couch. To soften the room, if you want to, I would get some sheer curtains for the windows Also I would pull your sectional out away from the windows...looks sort of shoved in. Pretty dogs....See Moresmall living room, no entry way. furniture design help needed
Comments (5)@Maddy Jens congrats on the house it looks beautiful! I grew up in a 1929 bungalow with no formal entry. Your new space looks like there may be room for an entry to the right as you walk in. A bench (with storage) below the window and a thin profile console table with mirror on the wall to the right of the opening to the dining room? The fireplace seems to be the focal point of the room. Keep a couch with or without chaise add-on on the wall and perhaps round coffee table with two chairs facing the couch? If you need desk space that could go where the rocker is now, against the wall perpendicular to the fireplace wall. Beautiful house! Enjoy making it your own :)...See MoreRelated Professionals
