Desert rose dying - what do I need to do
Comments (2)My indoor desert rose just started doing this this week also, havent changed a thing: water only when completly dry, use a chopstick to see if its damp, AC daytime 75 and night 73, indoors w/southern exposure now (afternoon sun) this was the only new move I did thinking maybe it needs more sunlight. Since i had it in low light before but not sure why my leaves are doing the same as yours? Hope someone answers and for potting mix I use the gritty mix. which calls for more frequent watering than normal but I normally only water 1x or every other week now. I guess I should go back to watering it 1x a month? When I was doing this the leaves didn't change yellow or start to brown on the edges....See MoreTrees Dying? Anything I can do?
Comments (2)Clients, at first glance it looks like winter wind dessication. Seems a bit odd to me that this would be happening this year, as it's been so snowy for all of us northerners, and usually, we see more of this when weather is dry and windy. FWIW, I've seen a few arbor vitae cultivars in my area burn up as well, with no apparent pattern. Since you're new in that location, you may not know much, if anything, about what might have gone on there previously. Here, I'm thinking about things like a big dumping of lawn fertilizer near those trees, improper herbicide use, and the like. Normally, arbs are especially carefree, easy plants, both where I live, and I would think, your area as well. If you are aware of anything that might have happened there earlier, let us know. And be aware, trees often display signs of trouble in a delayed fashion-after the causal agent has ended. Were you in drought last summer/fall? Even though we've had copious moisture here, roughly since December, we were very dry before that. So it could be from drought, with that delayed reaction showing up now. Keep us posted. I'm sure others will chime in. +oM...See MoreIs my snake plant dying? Can I do something about it?
Comments (0)Hey, I bought a snake plant 3 weeks ago and it looks like it's dying day by day. It's in a bright room but doesn't get direct sunlight and I haven't watered it since I bought it as the soil looks extremely moist - almost wet. I considered re-potting it into a drier soil but I'm too new to try any tricks w/o consultation first! Any tips?...See MoreWhat am I doing wrong? All of my plants are dying!
Comments (5)Pictures are also helpful for us in figuring out what might be occurring with your plants. Don't give up. Gardening is complex but also simple; if you are persistent you will get something to harvest each year, even if it is different. The most likely issue with what you described is "hardening off," which is not getting the plants used to the conditions outdoors before moving them....See Moreken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5
