Is a variegated pink Eureka lemon a "typical" lemon in flavor?

and acidity?

Or is it a milder version, rather like Meyers (which I have but am not crazy about, taste-wise.)

Stark Bros. has them on sale for $18.16, and free shipping today, so I am thinking about it....but I don't want another not-lemony-enough lemon!

Should be pretty much like Eureka. Not Meyer.

Thanks Dave. I bit the bullet and ordered while the free shipping offer was active! After it starts producing, I will probably give away the Meyer (my citrus are all in pots) since I am maxed out on plants to overwinter indoors.

Hmm not sure. I saw one at lowes the other day but it was a dwarf and it was pretty small. I would think that it has enough juice for but not sure about the flavor.

My Variegated Pink Lemon is a very pretty tree but more finicky than most of my other citrus trees. Mine is in a container. I find it likes a bit more shade in the summer than most of my other trees too. The new leaves are pinkish-purple and so are the flower buds. It is blooming in my greenhouse now. It's fruit are variegated too when it is not ripe, but turns yellow and loses most of the variegation when it ripens. Sometimes the raised lines where some of the stripes on the fruit are remains raised after it turns yellow. It tastes like the Eureka lemon that is not variegated.

It could, of course; salt is salt; with "moderately hard" water, if just takes a bit longer. Adding a bit of vinegar beforehand; and allowing it to settle, a lot of the salts would be precipitated out. Do you know the pH of your water? I would presume it to be high, which would worsen your problem and help produce some of the "look" of your plant.

I am a bit nervous of the condition of my tree once it arrives. It shipped out 10/3/17 and will arrive 10/10/17, 7-8 days in a dark box sounds like that poor trees going to be in rough shape. What is the longest anyone's trees have been in transit for?

I don't blame you. I'm not a huge fan of the taste of Meyers. I prefer 'regular' lemons like Eureka or Lisbon. I guess one good thing about Meyers is they are more or less ever-bearing.

And they have been easy to grow, too, but that lemon "zing" is just lacking - at least from the plants that I have. I understood from a post I saw here quite some time ago that Meyer plants can be quite variable.

I'm not a big fan of Meyers either, give me a lemon or an orange, I don't want a combination of the two.
