Popping back in to say if you're missing that cabinet door over stove, remove other one and put shelves there in same wood finish as the cabinets. Leave the decorative wood and shelves around the window and preserve the vintage look. Not every kitchen needs to be gutted. If this is a little guest house cabin, then respect its vintage vibe. It's great that you want to spruce up rather than tear out actual farmhouse features.
