Would cellular shades used with casement windows be unwise?
Comments (11)forhgtv  I wasnÂt aware of a blackout sunshade. I will check into that to see what type of privacy it would provide at night. Not being able to see through it in the day would not be a problem as the same would happen with a cellular or bamboo shade. annz/bobtheblindguy  for the most part, the shades would be pulled up when the windows are open. It would primarily be on the west side of the room where the shades may be lowered to some level to block the sun from coming in when windows are open. I think the blinds flapping could be controlled somewhat by how much the windows are open. This room has a total of 12 working casement windows so hopefully they would compensate. palimpsest  I also had some reservation on how much privacy the natural woven shade provides. That is one reason I was looking at the shades that used the wider bamboo slats as opposed to the woven grass or matchstick slats. Even then, there is the space that exists due to the string that binds them and so the privacy issue still concerns me. Comments (7)I've learned that for Levelor, no matter where you buy them, when you fill out the order it redirects to Levelor and they are made and shipped directly from the Levelor factory. So, check all the places and order from the one that has the best price at the moment. My best score was Lowes, 50% off list for Black Friday. Blinds.com often has 30% off list and my last purchase was Blindsaver.com I think. All the blinds are exactly the same and turn up in about the same time frame (a week or so). I'm redoing the whole house and just buy from the best place at the time I get around to ordering a few more....See MorePleated shades or cellular shades? Help!

Comments (0)We live by a lake with a south view thus getting a lot of sun in the afternoon. We were looking at roller shades with a 3% openness but am wondering if that would block the sun enough. Thinking also of going with a light filtering (cloth like material... don’t like the paper) cellular shade. We think the roller shades look better for a lake Home. However, the cellular would insulate better... live in cold minnesota ... but it seems to look to formal. Not sure what to do....See MoreUser
