I bought a soaking tub with a floor mount faucet. Where can I get a couple of questions answered regarding how to mount the faucet. Feed lines come out the side of the unit and the install instructions are vague. If this is mounted directly to the floor then the feed lines will show. If you mount from underneath the floor those feed lines will not be able to be installed because the floor wil be in the way. Use the link below to see what faucet and tub I ordered.

The cold and hot feed lines go into the side of the fixture, there is no changing that.

Your choices are:

1. Mount the fixture to a fabricated pedestal that also hides the incoming water lines.

2. Mount the fixture to a smaller fabricated pedestal, or directly to the floor, and let the water lines show.

3. Recess the fixture into the floor with the water lines also recessed.

I would go with option #1 above, making the fabricated pedestal large enough that the water lines could come out the sides and immediately turn down through the floor, all hidden by a top cover on the pedestal.

I understand, but it seems that the escutcheon could have been made larger on the faucet to cover the feed lines or there could be an option to run the feed lines straight down through the floor. It appears to be alot of extra work to install this faucet. Definitely not happy with this purchase. I'm sure there are better options out there.

It depends on the pot/pan. Stock pots and the like not much since they are pretty straight sided once you get above the roll from bottom to sides. Pans/saute's and pots that flare as they go up, a good bit. For example, I have a lot of All Clad pans and saute's that clear the island trim as they flare out from the bottom and center pretty well on the back burners and did not with my other configuration. Also, you will hear a lot about condensation fromt the oven vent whether you use island trim or one of the riser trim/vents, especially with a SS backsplash. Although we have a tile backsplash this time which probably helps reduce this, Ihave no residual condensation from the vent during oven preheat with the bump out. I did have a SS backsplash behind my last range that did not have a bump out and the condensation was very noticeable. However, this presents more of a cleaning nuisance than anything else b/c the condensation leaves dried water marks on the backsplash (especially SS). Anyway, its not a must but it is very handy and I really like mine. If you do it, make sure you bump out the vent hood accordingly which is not hard either. In my case, we were using a custom hood and hood liner so it was simply a matter of designing the hood enclosure to match the depth of the range with the bump out.

Due to the morass of electronics used with the induction type cooktop, and the need for heat sinks and air ducts for cooling the drive transistors, the induction cooktop would be expected to require more volume below the counter. You would need to measure your radiant cooktop and compare to the dimensions for the Frigidaire cooktop. "Some assembly required." It is likely that you will either have to replace the brackets, modify the brackets, adapt new brackets to old brackets, or perform some other DIY project solution. Keep in mind this is the duct-tape part of a belt, suspenders, and duct-tape safety system. You only need to find a way to keep the unit in the hole in case of earthquake, keep it from sliding around, and keep it from falling down if all the Ceran breaks. However, if Code Enforcement is involved, a satisfactory solution depends on his opinion. (Did you determine that the Frigidaire cutout equals the GE cutout? The Electrolux brands' cutouts are among the largest of those needed for induction cooktops -- at least at the 36-inch size. You may have to have some granite cut, or a "frame" built, depending on match or mismatch.)

HU: Your second picture appears to be that of a 2 cm top with a mitered perimeter edge. They didn't want to miter at the sink cut out, so they didn't. The first picture is a 3cm through-body top. Either is fine, except both are examples of a negative reveal which is where the top overhangs the sink. This creates an unsanitary and difficult to clean crud ledge in addition to leaving the bottom of the top exposed to chipping. A flush edge creates an elongated silicone joint that frays, becomes contaminated, unsanitary, and ugly. Insist upon a slight positive reveal please: This one's a little heavy, but I had to work with the existing cutout. You get the idea. Now you get a cleanable maintainence-free line between the bottom of the stone and the sink flange. When selecting a caulk color, always bring the stone to the sink, never the sink to the stone.

Where does the finish floor supposed to end up on the flange? At the very top or right below the threads?

Dry assemble things on a workbench and you will see where the bottom of the flange is located in relation to the fixture base. Build based on those dimensions.

Send me the parts and I can tell you. Otherwise dry assemble things on a workbench and you will see where the bottom of the flange/escutcheon is located in relation to the fixture base. Build based on those dimensions.
