This is the first quilt finished. The second one will be almost identical.

and the swatch at the bottom is the backing flannel material.

Number two is sandwiched and ready to go.

but not today.

Thanks, L! In 7 years, the countertop decor has changed a bit, but I still haven't gotten tired of the irises. I know they might be more suitable for a bathroom rather than a kitchen, but they make me feel good when I'm doing the dishes. Lois, I had a rather long hiatus when I did very little. And now, I am trying to get back in gear. I have fabric which I will never get to and I am having guilt pangs. And because I just turned 90, I feel even more guilt that my children will have to deal with my collection. So trying to do as much as I can.

I also think that other members here do a lot of work but maybe don’t post pictures.

But since, I don’t have anyone to share my work with and I ’thrive’ on encouragement, I share my work with you all.

it turned out great! Is this the one that you ended up with too many /too large of blocks?

I love it - and the backing fabric is perfect!

Yes, Sue this is it. i had cut fabric for six more blocks and then had enough blocks for two lap sized quilts. Second one is waiting for quilting. My son is here this week to get the gardens ready, so no sewing, ( or sowing it is too cold).

I love that hiatus expression. I'm taking one too although . I could call it a sabbatical. Anywhere the quilt is striking. Neat pattern.
