I got one from an ebay seller last year called "shoalcreeksucculents". I am quite pleased with my plant.She had them listed all summer ( recently also) as 'buy now' but I wasn't sure if anyone bought it. Her plants appears smaller in picture but quite large with nice caudex in person. I bought a total of 3 plants at different listings from her for gifts but I kept one and I will try to show you a photo when I get a chance. She has great plants. I tried to see if her listing was available before emailing you but its gone. Try to see if you can contact her. You will not be disappointed.

I check them, but I was watering with a sprayer, so I think I wasn't getting enough water into the soil that way. Starting to look better now that I gave it a thorough watering. :) That cut of root in the "crotch" area is actually coming off the left. It must have been cut because it was crossing, it was like that when I bought it.

Also not an expert, but know a little... First, get rid of that MG C&S soil - it's complete and utter crap, particularly for these caudiciform plants. Or add lots of perlite/pumice/other drainage materials to it - that will ameliorate its crappiness, but only a little. But the best information is, as MQ put it, already here. Just search for 'Adenium' or 'Desert Rose' and you'll see a lot of information that will answer your questions. And there's no reason why you shouldn't touch the bottom roots - come to think of it, there's every reason to do so - your plant will grow better if the plant's as rootbound as it may be. Even still, if you're going to get this plant growing as you wish it to, you need to do a repot, IMO.

Hi Kyle. First, your Adenium is lovely. So much foliage, healthy, green leaves. But, there are a few problems. The container looks way too large. Can you please measure? Also, what size was its previous pot? You should have waited before repotting. I know the feeling getting a new plant, desiring to don in something prettier, but like many other plants, Adeniums go dormant this time of year into winter months. Spring would have been a better time to repot. What type of Cactus Mix did you use? Although there's absolutly nothing wrong with bagged Cactus Soil, it needs additional mediums for better drainge. Perlite, super, Coarse Sand, tiny pebbles. 'smaller than pea gravel.' Shade..Why shade? Especially since it was in a green house, even under shelter. It should have been in medium to bright light once brought home. Since it was sheltered, not direct sun, but bright, indirect light. They adapt. Large pot, wet soil, and shade equals a soft trunk then rot. Leaf drop is normal this time of year. Some Adeniums are more prone to falling leaves than others. Sorry, I'm unfamilar with your speciees..Google, there's plenty of information. If the soil is heavy, and the pot too large, your Adenium was probably over-watered. Final result can end with root rot. It's been watered twice in 'almost' two-weeks time, now the trunk is softening. Depending on depth of pot, to test soil, stick your finger or a thin stick deep in soil. Avoid roots. If your finger/stick comes out wet, 'even if the top soil is dry,' refrain from watering. WAIT. Retest 3-4 days later. Soil should look/feel crumbly before watering. Please, don't water sooner..Better letting soil go completely dry than risking root rot. Flowers usually fade this time of year, 'as do leaves.' Leaf and flower drop isn't the problem. Proper watering and light is. Other than changing its care, I don't have an answer what can be done.
