IMO it is more of a creamy color than white...although the lighting and the cabs could be affecting the way the color photographs. Unfortunately IMO, from that angle it is almost impossible to make a guess that would be meaningful. Best bet..visit granite yards and check out all the creamy varieties...and hopefully you will find one that you love.

It is Kozmus aka Asterix aka Saturnia aka the love of my life! And depending on who you are getting your info from, it is either one of the most durable surfaces once installed or it is a nightmare from fabrication up until after installation. There are two granite showrooms in my area- one says they stopped carrying it because they had nothing but complaints and that it would flake off even after installed, the other acknowledges that it is a nightmare to work with but insists that their customers are always satisfied. Funny how the one that stopped carrying it offers guarantees, but the other doesn't. And you are correct, it's not a granite, it's a Schist. I don't know who to trust when it comes to this (and it is quite possible that I may just have to tune out any negative information and go with my gut) but my backup has some similar properties. It's called Magma Gold and has some of the qualities I like about Kozmus, but is not as sparkly and has more golden tones to it.

My Fantasy Brown was labelled as Quartzite. It's leathered, and doesn't stain scratch or etch. You can find the same photos online labelled as Quartzite, marble and granite. Fabricator and stone yard here say it's Quartzite.

I suspect the only reason I do not have more buckwheat is because I tilled the garden vigorously before planting. If it goes to seed, it is right at the edge of the box so will likely spill out into the yard. Cilantro did the same last year and now I have cilantro without any effort while also not taking up any garden space. Win/win for everyone. Such flowering plants may be why I have had great returns with zucchini pollination---I get the sense from reading that squash returns vary greatly without pollinators. If the same holds true for winter squash, I will be making lots of butternut stew.
