Hi Everyone
Can anyone identify this algae.
I have a large 1/2 acre quarry pond, 8’deep.
The water is green, but there is no algae floating in or on top of the water. When put in a container the water is clear.
However, anything submerged in the water, including rocks, pump hoses etc. is covered in this slime.
On the rocks, below the water, they look like rubbery balls, and if dislodged, float to the top, break apart easily as well.
We are aerating the pond and have been swimming in it for 2 years, no problems.
There are a few frogs, 3 turtles and too many goldfish. The latter, which are would like to eliminate, as they are invasive.
