I'm assuming you are speaking of a treadle sewing machine when you say foot pedal? Franklin was a Sears and Roebuck brand and they were first manufactured around 1910. They were supposed to be a copy of Singer. The value of intact treadle machines varies wildly from one part of the country to the next. I have purchased them as cheaply as twenty five dollars (including the cabinet) to seventy five dollars. A really nice one in good shape with an attractive cabinet would bring about $200 here. The local city school systems were still using treadle machines in their sewing classes into the 1960s and they were still being made until the 1950s. I have five or six old machines like that and sort of collect them. You'll find the actual machine heads are often out of the machine when they're sold, and the cabinets with the treadle mechanisms are often more expensive than the old machines. Ebay usually has a bunch of them and they're sometimes found at estate auctions.

Are there any markings on the bottom to indicate who made the ceramic or porcelain? If so, you could try posting on the antiques forum to get information about it. Go to eBay and search with the words "ornate ceramic lamp vintage" It will give you an idea of what lamps are out there. Because lamp bases don't wear out, there are lots of vintage lamps out there. And remember, when you look at the pricing, it's the "sold" listings that show the true value, not the asking prices.

i found nu travertine at Specialty Tile. They sent me three 18X18 samples that arrived 2 days after I spoke to them. They did not quite match, so they sent another sample which was about the same. Now they are sending more from a different lot #, and suggested that I could send them a sample of my old floor, which the would take to their warehouse and try to match for me. They have not charged me for any of the samples, and send them 2day shipping. I hope the next set match, because they have been so great to work with and I would like to purchase from them. In answer to previous posts, they do have the walnut in stock as well. I have the silver matte and it is beautiful tile. I will update this post as things progress.
