Hard to until you tell us what the flooring is in the kitchen. Also, what is the flooring beyond the kitchen? Are you keeping appliance and are those stainless?

Taj Mahal can be warm,,,,, or it can be quite cook and gray. Do you have a photo of the slabs?

Can you post some pics of your actual cabinet samples, Taj, and Soho. The layout too and what you can see from this room into other rooms.

We need actual pictures of all the choices already made. Wall colr and backsplash are the last 2 choices to make .

Are these cabinets made locally or mfg/ ordered

I wouldn't do gray veined counters with your wood cabinets. Taj is usually a mixture of beige and creams although it started to gray in the past.

There might be other choices with creamy tones.

I love that stone but, there are so many fabulous choices with warm, creamy tones too. I agree with @eld6161, perhaps rethink the gray, although I see where you are coming from with the black/stainless appliances. Honestly, I'd pick the flooring first... then see what works with the wood-look floors and your beautiful alder cabinets. It's going to be great!

So I LOVE the countertop, just not loving the cabinet sample with the countertop. Would you consider painting your new cabinets?

I added Benjamin Moore gray owl, that was my first thought when I saw this beautiful countertop.

The counters look like they would work because of the browns in the stone.

Pick one. The countertop with a different cabinet color or the cabinet color with a different countertop. They do not compliment one another - at all.

Beautiful! I had Alder cabinets in my old house ,miss them! ! I currently have cherry and just installed Taj Mahl.Backsplash is almost done,went with off-white crackle 9x13 subway.

Hopefully someone will give you advice which tile to go with.

My designer friends helped me pick out my tile (I’m horrible with that stuff lol)

We used a very light/creamy subway tile in a crackle finish paired with Taj Mahal quartzite. It was a challenge to find the right tone to compliment and not compete with the Taj. I personally don’t like busy backsplashes, but that’s just me.

I would do a light subway tile without variation of color from tile to tile. The one you have on the left looks like a mix of colors which will be too busy and compete with the countertop imho. You want a simple backsplash with the Taj.

Your beautiful cabinets and counters have character; I'd let them shine and do a very quiet and simple backsplash that doesn't compete.
