When you pulled them off the mother plant,did you let them dry completely,about a week?Try dipping them in a fungicid again.Let them dry with it on them,after completely dry,put them in warm barely moist sand.They have all the nutrients they need,Iv'e done this a couple times,it worked for me.They will start to root in about a week.Dont mist them at all,it will cause another fungis to start.Good luck.

Hi Cora At the end of this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3yvjSovxU4 there is a very basic instruction on how to seperate and plant pups. I am sure others will have some good advice here but the very basics are covered in the video. I dont know when the best time to divide the pups would be but if I had to guess I would say right now if you live in a temperate zone. Good luck

Hi Dave; Thanks for answnering my question. No, These pups were not in the sun at all. As far as the roots go, I just pulled a few out of the bag and those had no roots at all. They feel hard and not rotted. I just keept taking the pups off my other large Sagos that I had to leave behind but as I stated, I made a small area in my old yard and they all seemed to do quite well, fronds and all. I was just wondering about the roots and if I did plant them, will a new set of roots form. You sound like your quite knowlegeable about Sagos. I'll go out and dump the bag out and see if any on the bottom have rotted, I'll trash the ones that I know are mushy. If you think the others will form roots, I'd be happy as a clam! Hi... The formation of roots on Cycas Revoluta pups can be very sporadic. 12 months ago I removed 15 pups from my mature plant and 3 of them developed roots in 3/4 months. Most of the rest have been rooting at differing length of times and 2 still have not yet got any roots. You will know when roots have formed as the grow quickly and you will see them appearing at the holes in the bottom of the pot. Water them only occasionaly as the pups will quickly rot if kept too moist. After removing the pups from the parent plant it is wise to dust the wound with a fungicide and leave for 2/3 weeks before planting into pots. Hope this helps! Regards Allan
