I may have figured out how to win the deer battle
Comments (29)We have GIANT MUTANT DEER..they eat my daffodils, even my iris when they come up in the spring. The deer ring our doorbell and run away, laughing. They ate 15 roses down to stumps and then TP'd our yard. In short, they are mean. I tried planting garlic around some roses. They just left that alone and proceeded to defoliate the bushes. So now I take one egg, some milk, chopped garlic and mix in a watering can and pour it over my bushes and fruit trees. I have been doing this religiously for the past few weeks and so far it is working.......See MoreAdvice on Neighborhood Children
Comments (106)Couple of things..... Is it only Fun2BHere's yard they are playing in and only her drive and side walk they are chalking up? If so....why is that? and if not...what do the others think....have they gone ballistic over the "intrusion"? And did it ever occur to you that by washing the chalk off the sidewalk you are providing them with a nice clean surface to draw on again? Just try leaving it there....I'll bet they won't add to their drawings. When I was a child I was allergic to all manner of stuff and it was a rule that I couldn't eat anythning without showing my mother what I was given and getting permission. So when my kids and grands were little, my words were.."Run home and ask your mother if you can have a cookie". Of course the answer always was "she doesn't care"...but I would insist....or say "well then I'll save the cookies until you are ready to go home then give you some." Another thing, often when there is something that "annoys the hell out of me"...I discover that the problem is my attitude and if I adjust that, I am a much happier person. Comments (8)Sorry this happened to your house. I hope your daughter and team win their soccer game and also the state tournament. My Grand-daughter is playing in state tournament in McPherson right now. I wanted to go so badly....but the weather forecast sounded like there might be storms in the area and the a 2 hour drive back home by myself. I do think the opposing school principal...AD...coach ...should have been notified! I hope those cameras got a good picture of them! It would be nice if they had to forfeit their game!...See MoreMischief Night?
Comments (29)Ah we had mischief night here in south central pa -- it tended to be pretty clean fun -- soaped windows, toilet papered trees, lipstick on car windows (i remember as a young teen covering all the windows of one of the sr footballers with lipstick kisses.. eyeroll). As I got older there were more and more eggs thrown so more damaging. Not my thing. I don't believe it is a thing anymore. It definitely isnt in my area of town....See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
