I failed to add the more current pic with the front porch painted BM Dove Wing, door painted SW porpoise, and window trim BM White Dove. I hope people see this pic. I couldn’t figure out how to edit my post. Mainly, idk what makes brick appear whiter- a color that is darker than it, lighter than it or as close to same color as possible. My decorators recommendation was SW Urbane Bronze on gutters, garage door and shutters and BM Dove Wing (porch color here) on all the trim. I thought the Dove Wing might be too yellow, but it’s actually pretty on the porch.

I like your decorators recommendations. Not sure I would’ve chosen Dove Wing, but it does look good where it is. Regarding what will make the brick look whiter? Color is relative, so the white brick will appear lighter next to darker colors. The white around the windows is a little bright to me and if you’re looking for something softer you could try the dove wing - since you’ve already got it. The Dove Wing (which is yellow) may bring out the pink of the bricks, though (they’re probably not white if you look closely, just appear white next to the darker bricks). But I maybe wrong, because it does look good on the porch. On an exterior colors appear more washed out and whites look brighter than on the inside.

Susie, thank you for your response! I think my decorator chose BM Dove Wing bc the interior of my house is BM White Dove. The SW Urbane Bronze just got thrown in bc she said it’s gorgeous on gutters. SW Porpoise (1 up on swatch from Urbane Bronze) proved to be really pretty on my front door with Dove Wing on the stucco. Idk why I’m complicating things. I think the existing yellow trim is throwing my eye off and making me feel like Dove Wing isn’t a big enough change from the existing yellow. That’s the reason I put white dove around the windows after painting the porch Dove wing.
But if yellow undertones will bring out the pinks, I wonder if I should be looking for something with greyer undertones?
My painter is coming today to start on the gutters and garage door in Urbane Bronze. At least that will eliminate a lot of the yellow and I’ll put Dove Wing on the windows and see what I think. Thank you again!

Picking paint is maddening. Especially for yourself. There are just too many choices out there and color can be finicky. Yellow doesn’t necessarily bring out the pink, but sometimes they just clash next to each other. Green would definitely bring out the pink. If your painter is coming to do the urbane bronze, just wait until that is finished and see what the windows look like after that (they may be even brighter looking or they may be fine). The in between phase is the hardest for most people because some things are different and not everything is working, etc.

Part of the problem with the windows is that the white dove I had on hand was an oil based satin. I don’t plan to use satin on the trim. This may be making it brighter than white dove flat would be. I still think the Dove Wing is a better choice as it would give me more of the muted look I’m going for. And yes, picking paint is maddening and the in between phase is the worst!
