Whole house humidifier, but not enough space in vent?

We have a brand new Trane heat pump/furnace combo (X19), using the communicating thermostat. These are stacked in the garage feeding into vents that go into the crawlspace, meaning that immediately after the vents exit the system, they pull a roughly 90 degree turn before traveling to the rest of the house.

The house is *extremely* dry--literally 25% this afternoon, in the Northwest while it's raining. It's a 2600 sqft house, so localized humidifiers is not really practical.

I've had three local HVAC companies come out and take a look at installing a whole house humidifier. However, all but one have said that they wouldn't be confident with the humidifier because the area that they would be injecting the steam injectors would be "too tumultuous" due to the immediate 90 degree turn and would result in a substantial drop in moisture. Putting the humidifier in the crawlspace was also rejected due to the requirement to run power and water down there. To note, all three recommended the same humidifier brand, Aprilaire (even though ironically enough, Trane makes one and recommends these installers).

Are there different brands that might work better? Any solutions? I'm desparate!
