Thanks for the responses! live wire oak, excellent point. The cabinet depth is 24", so that would mean I would need to adjust the dimensions to 66"x 25.5", if a 1.5" overhang is standard. I hadn't thought about that when I asked for the quote. What I want to do is match the marble countertops overhang in the rest of the kitchen. Maybe I should ask my GC if that is the amount of overhang he plans for the marble. Also, do you know if a #4 brushed finish is good? I don't want it to look too shiny; what I have in mind is more a commercial kitchen finish. What finish are you asking for, live wire oak and wallycat? (and any others who have/are getting stainless?) Also, are you getting it the same way as I was quoted, with a MDF substrate and the SS laminated onto that, or is there a better construction? I agree w/AlwaysFixin here too! With the batwing design, you have to be very careful when moving the faucet...you can't just move it from one sink to another while running...you have to turn it off first, move it, then turn it on again. Additionally, the sink bowls are too small to be very useful...especially as a main sink. Regarding size...for a prep sink, you shouldn't have a sink smaller than 12" square...and 15" - 18" is better. For a main sink, you really need one much bigger. We have a corner 15-3/4" square prep sink (Kohler K-3345) and I would not consider anything smaller (it's in a 36" corner sink base). Our main sink (Ticor S405D) is two bowls - one side is only 10-1/2" wide, but it's used primarily for soaking utensils and filling things...not for washing or rinsing dishes. The larger bowl is 21-1/2" wide...a wonderful size...big enough of our largest cookie sheets & largest frying pan + handle. It's also 9" deep + the 3cm granite depth = 10-1/4" deep. Great all around. This sink fits in a 36" standard sink base. If you must have a corner sink for your main sink, I would think seriously about a single bowl for maximum size...and I'm not normally a single-bowl proponent! BTW...our prep sink is 18-gauge & our main sink is 16-gauge...both are fine.

I have no scratches on the apron of my sink, installed in 2011, but one of my DDs dripped nail polish remover down the front, and the 'trail' seems to be permanent. I've tried cleaners, wiping the whole apron with nail polish remover, even rubbing alcohol, but it's as if the remover took off a bit of patina, and it will never be the same. It's not noticeable--I have to look closely, at a certain angle, but it's still there. A few times I've been aware of a zipper on a sweat jacket making contact, by the sliding noise, so I try to remember to take off jackets before using the sink. I don't wear belts, but I'd imagine a buckle could cause damage. The inside of the sink is a disaster, as I do not use a grid, but the scratches there don't bother me. I actually took a scrubbie to the brand new sink, to christen it (instead of breaking a bottle of wine on it's bow, lol). The same DD mentioned above lost her grip on an iron skillet, so the sink has a nice little dent, but I don't notice that either--I had to look for it when I just checked for scratches on the apron. I'm not too picky about scratches and dings, but YMMV.

The elkay crosstown is a workstation, so it’s 17” opening but you do lose a little space in the basin to accommodate the ledge. I am doing the smaller crosstown (gettting installed Wednesday!) and unwrapped it looks great!

This is a standard half sheet pan in the elkay, which was an important metric for my sink selection - I thought the visual might help.

All 33" sinks undermount into a 33" cabinet no matter what the sink manufacturers say. Don't use their provided junk leaky clips; strap your sink in place please.

Julien (Home refinements) has an 18" depth and you can also choose 8" or 10" high. The price will be higher. Here is the 30" x 18" x 10" You can get the right rear drain option at no added cost.

I have the same model, but I also added the integrated drainboard option. My fabricator messed up and didn't give me the zero reveal that I asked for and was specified by the manufacturer, so my opening is a bit smaller than 18" deep.

Make sure you have enough space for your faucet with that 18" depth, specially if you have a window behind the sink ... I had my lower cabinets pulled out 3" from the wall and I just have enough room for the faucet.

@Joseph Corlett, LLC would you please provide a link to the sink straps you recommend?

I am buying a 29" Kohler Strive stainless sink (18 inches wide) installed in an corner in an angled sink base cabinet. Fitting the sink into this 42" sink base cabinet will be trick-there will be very little room on either side of the front corners of the sink (front being along the cabinet side). Countertop: granite or quartzite. Thank you!

@snappity How do you like that magnetic sponge holder? I think it's the Elkay sinkmate? It appears to be discontinued, but seems like a great idea to me!

@P. T. I love it! I found it on ebay, I think the list price was 45 and I did 'make an offer' and got it for 30. It's fantastic. I attached the magnets before install, but each corner has a magnetic zone so I can swap things around as I wish. It's SO much better than suction cups or even a countertop sponge holder (esp, as you can see, I have a lot going on up there!) Oh, you can't see, because this is an older thread!
