SW's website says this is a color with a voilet undertone. Is that what you want? I would just do the cabinets in Snowbound. That's a popular, neutral color.

Photos of paint colors are pointless. The temperature (color) of the prevailing light distorts everything. The only way to see and pick a color is to see it in the space where it will be used under the light that will be used.

If the trim and walls are snowbound why are you doing another white for the cabinets? What are your floors and counters? Wind fresh is very violet. Best to show what all the hard finishes are in your space.

I disagree that photos are pointless. They are just another tool one can use to narrow your choices, specially if another color in the photo is one I have used and know well. Of course they need to be tested in the space they will be used!

I guess I was just thining it would be nice to have a slight contrast between the window/trim/doors and the cabinets. I was even thinking maybe I look into a greige? But then I go back and forth because white is timeless.

Not only are photos unreliable, people see colors differently.

The best way to judge color is in your space with Samplize 9" x 14.75" peel & stick paint sheets.

Without knowing too much about the situation I would say this combination is going to look like a near miss.

Match the walls or contrast the walls with a lighter or darker color for the cabinets.

I would imagine it would be fine with snowbound trim. Even though it’s named a white it’s much lower LRV than a white or off white. You just need to decide if you want a violet gray kitchen. May be hard to find photos of cabinets in that color. And everything looks so much more colorful when it gets bigger so I understand why you’d want to see an example before pulling the trigger. Samplize is great but it’s still only about 8x10. A single cabinet door won’t give you the full effect either. Buy a quart and paint it on the wall where your cabinets will be. Bring your countertop in etc.

Matching your trim is the easiest way to pick cabinets. Snowbound is a little pink. Balboa mist is a little lavender also. It’s a warm gray.

Another color with violet undertones.

Windfresh White belongs to the warm side of the Yellow Hue Family.

It doesn’t possess violet ’undertones’.

It has the potential to shift & appear that way, *BUT* -

only where lighting spikes heavily in the blue-violet region of the spectrum.

In relatively well balanced lighting it will render a warm, light, near neutral.

There is nothing fixed & inherently purple about this colour.

Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone is a neighbour and sits even closer to the Yellow-Red Hue Family and so by comparison, would be more inclined to shift purpleish in funky lighting.

But similarly in balanced light settings, it too will just appear a warm near neutral.

So careful viewing of a large chip or sample in situ, will give you an indication of how it will behave in your setting, with your available light quality & context.

SW says it has violet undertones IMO they should know better than Marylee H . IMO not a good color for cabinets for sure.But seeing any color in someone elses sapce will not help you unless they have the exact same space , lighting, flooring everything. Since everything has an effect on color .

@Mark Bischak, Architect i think what the o.p meant was unfiltered pictures from peoples home. i can relate because every time i google a picture of paint, its a heavily filtered pintrest style photo that does not represent the color as well as a picture from someones home

Pictures from someones home, filtered or unfiltered, never represents colors as accurately as real life.
