This is my second bathroom. Lee, thank you so much. I really take that as a complement! So you need pocket door hardware. The actual mechanism is by Linnea but it didn't come with an edge pull. I found the Sugatsune edge pulls that blended nicely so I picked them up. Can you use "flush pulls"? This summer I had it in my other bathroom waiting for this room to get done. My 3 year old grandson pulled it over. Fortunately he didn't get hit! So I would only recommend the setup to responsible adults ;) I love it though. Regarding the medicine cabinet, tonight I might install the LED track. I had to order special adaptor that I missed on my original order. My electrician is ok with me doing this portion. He installed the hard wire 12volt. I will attach the LED strip and the infrared on/off switch. I did a plug-in setup in my laundry cabinet with the infrared and it has worked beautifully so far. Raehelen, many questions...with answers for you:) The medicine cabinet door is an actual medicine cabinet door that I acquired 20 years ago. I didn't even know about any of this stuff. It sat in my basement for all this time. I almost gave it away to Habitat for Humanity. When I was looking for medicine cabinets this past summer 2013 (you aren't the only one with a year long bathroom project, I'm sorry to report :( Anyway when looking, I saw a Robern medicine cabinet at Fergeson's and thought about my Robern cabinet door, "could I have an actual medicine cabinet door?" I did. It is huge! The door is double sided mirror, but the inner mirror is not as wide as the outer mirror. The inner area is a sturdy plastic with spots for hinges. That is what told me it was the same as the med cab on display. I thought that my cab maker could get those hinges and install the door onto a box. The edge is a black plastic that as a channel or grove all along the edges. It is about 1/5" thick. To me it is more stable with the particle board construction of the walnut veneer cabinets.

I can imagine two reasons for wanting some kind of lock on a vestibule door: extra layer of obstacle to keep young kids from escaping outside or to keep them from playing in the coat closet; or to be able to give neighbors a front door key so they could pick up mail/packages while one was out of town and put them in the vestibule, but not have access to the entire house. Actually, it just occurred to me: my grandparents had a lock in their vestibule door. It was unlocked all day, but we always locked it before heading to bed as an extra obstacle if someone tried to break in; there was a sliding glass door in the back of the vestibule that would have been easy to break and the bedrooms were on the opposite side of the house, so breaking glass might not have been heard. We never locked it when we left the house, just at night. Not sure if there's even a key for it!

Medeco locks can be bumped (my DH's boss demonstrated at DEFCON last year), they're just harder. With all the glass in the doors (or even accessible windows), if someone really wants to get in they won't bump your door, they'll break the glass. So don't worry too much about the locking mechanism, just the durability and the installation. My builder didn't mortise the strike plate for my Yale deadbolt in correctly, it was always hard to close and lock, it broke in the *locked* position this winter, I had to disassemble it (from inside the house - can't be done from outside) and replace the innards that Yale sent me free of charge. My cousin remortised the strike plate but still we have flimsy screws and jambs and someone could just kick the door in (or break a window on the porch). If you're really worried about security, get an alarm system.

However I'm not sure we would use it much. We are diligent about keeping the garage cleared out and parking in it. Our entry for the family is through the garage door to the house. I'm trying to figure out if we should do something like this on the man door from the garage to the outside so we can easily get in the house without keys after a walk or bike ride (except we tend to lock the door from the house to the garage too). We wanted to go with Baldwin as we heard they were better than Schlage, but have found a lot of the ANSI ratings are a 2 instead of a 1. Schlage seems to be mostly 1.
