You will need to show floor and wall color should be decided in sync with this decision. Best to line up actual tile samples along backsplash after all lighting is in.

Once everything else is in place you choose backsplash and wall color . Waht is that box between the windows ?IMO remove it get a proper hood and vent it to outside .

You have a nice classic vibe started here. Don't ruin it with a tile backsplash. Run a 5" strip of your marble as a backsplash. If you really want something behind the range, go with another slab of your marble. It will be classic and seamless.

In my former kitchen, we ran 5" marble and maybe 12" behind the range. Lots of UK kitchens do this or skip a backsplash all together. I've found that wiping food splashes off of a well painted wall is every bit as easy as off of tile and I never have groutlines to clean.

Thank you Kendra, I am in love with this idea. I hope we can make it happen. This is leathered Taj Mahal quartzite but unfortunately, we have not had best experience with our fabricator. I think this is why we haven’t been able to decide on a backsplash tile, I just don’t like it in our kitchen.

You can use your kitchen without a backsplash, so take your time and think about it. Bring home (or order online) several samples of tiles and look at them in your kitchen. If you get down to a couple and can't decide, update your post showing your options.

We lived with out a backsplash for six months and that is what sealed the deal for us on not having one at all. Kitchen renovations are so stressful. I'd step back and enjoy the kitchen for a while, not deal with contractors for a while, then decide.

Kendrah, this has been this most stressful thing ever! I never dreamed we would have such a hard time making decisions but it just feels so permanent. I told my contractor today I wanted to do that with the quartzite and he said it would be nearly impossible at this point since I would have to purchase a whole other slab. That doesn’t sound right to me though, think I’m going to call around.

The time to do the matching backsplash has passed - unless your fabricator has enough of the remnants from your original slabs. Color and veining varies from slab to slab and you don’t want a mismatch. Waiting and further researching is good advice.

Yes the BS comes from the same slab as your counters and it is part of the original templating

I wonder how this would look. I would do herringbone just behind stovetop and the rest horizontal brick pattern. My only concern with this is it’s cool toned and everything else is pretty warm. Waiting on samples to see it in kitchen.
