Unfortunately I can;t scan drawings, I changed from PCs to Macs a while ago and never bothered updating my scanner to Mac. I did a coupe of quick drawings in adobe illustrator. Nothing fancy as I just got the program and haven't learned how to properly use it. But regarding the "medicine cabinets" in the pony wall, the following scratch pad drawings will hopefully convey a better idea of what I'm getting at: Note that the "sink side" medicine cabinet uses the upper part of the pony wall and the "toilet side" storage uses the lower half of the pony wall. I didn't show doors. There might not even be space to have a door on the toilet side. I can show you a photo of what I did in my own bathroom. Instead of having a narrow 5" wide pony wall, I instead turned it into a 48" tall cabinet that's maybe 15" wide and about 32" deep. You can see two drawers in my "pony cabinet". The upper is where my wife stores her hair dryer, etc, there are outlets in the cabinet so they stay plugged in all the time. The lower drawer is on 28" full extension slides, so it slides all the way out of the cabinet, almost like a kitchen pull-out pantry. The lower drawer is divided in half vertically, the shelving on one side faces the sink side of the room and it serves as a medicine cabinet of sorts, with several shelves about 4" deep. The side that faces the toilet has several shelves that are about 6" deep, deep enough to hold rolls of toilet paper, toilet cleaning supplies, etc. I think using a pocket door will help your room spatially, especially with the room being 5-1/2' deep and your vanity taking up a bit of that 5-1/2" depth. Does this help clarify things a bit?

--"..I do feel bad for DH"-- And there is how and why you allow husband to make this decision. I get SS and you, yourself, went through some nasty times and there is harbored hurt and resentment...BUT, with that acknowledged, let husband do with these items as he sees proper. Don't make the decision for him and do not force him into doing away with something he is uneasy with parting with. If you take it upon yourself to toss the stuff and/or send a facebook message stating 'x weeks or the items will be disposed with', you're leaving yourself wide open for the issue to come back and bite you in the buns. It is a small amount, surely won't take up but a small place in a closet...is ditching the items (and in a sense ridding in your mind the last of the SS who has put you through so much) really worth chancing later additional resentments and hurt? Your husband is still trying (the Christmas card), he's not ready to clear the son out of his life. While he may go along with the message and then possible disposal now, you may find the incident come back and haunt you.

I agree that the alarming thing is that he went to his friend's mom with the problem. It's one thing for a 10 yo to play one parent off the other, but to turn to a third party adult is another situation entirely. Kids are told in school here that "If someone is hurting you or being mean to you, talk to a trusted adult" and if my BF's son or one of my N&Ns ever did that, I'd be very very worried. I think I'd side with with poster who said to talk to a school counselor (etc) before calling CPS, considering since you've never seen any physical signs of abuse... I personally would be hesitant to jump straight to CPS, but it DOES need to be brought to someone's attention who is trained in this sort of situation. My BF's son is 8, and he'll often tell us "Mom said I wouldn't live to see nine if I keep leaving my Lego on the stairs" (obviously she's not serious)... Last week he told me "Grandma is sooooo mean, she gave me a spanking this morning when Dad came to get me" (I asked BF about this - it was at pickup time, so he saw it - she smacked him on the butt for talking back as he walked out of the room. Perhaps not the best approach to deal with sass, but certainly not the vicious beating A__ made it out to be) I don't worry too much about that sort of thing, but I WOULD be worried if he had bruises that certainly weren't from playing soccer or tobogganing, or he told a friend's parent, or he had a large-scale freakout about going back to his mom's. You're right for being concerned about this!

You are doing the right thing. I believe that only people who know what they are doing (qualified breeders) who KNOW they will have homes for the puppies/kittens should breed. What is worse is that you don't have homes for all the puppies. The female's owner doesn't want responsibility. Is the friend going to place all the puppies? How would you feel if some end up at a shelter? I also have to say that I think this person may want one of the puppies for the wrong reason. She may think the puppy will be like the grandfather in some way. That she can recreate her lost dog.
