Acid-wash/antique a huge mirror?

Abby Marshall
last year

When we bought this house there was a huge mirror in the entryway which we removed from the wall. It's not in perfect shape - but certainly usable. I'm thinking about a DIY acid wash or antiquing OR paying someone to do it and then putting it on a wall in the LR. On the back of the mirror there is a stamp indicating the mirror was made in 1950.

Dimensions are 72x38.

I'm thinking of something like this-

Large mirrors are so expensive - seems a shame not to do do something with it.

Does anyone have experience with acid wash?
