Comments (1)Please, no poplar. get a diff wood species. Red Oak would be better. Poplar is horrible for staining. It's a paint grade wood if you must use Minwax (Varathane or General Finishes is better) , Use the Dark Walnut, Provencial, If Varathane is there, do the gel stain in the american walnut or walnut color. Comments (7)BM Linen White might be a good place to start. You'll have to bring home some chips to find the right color. Something a little lighter than the bed. Don't try to match the bed. Comments (16)I vote for Cordovan Brown - assuming that pic is true to what the stain color really is. There is a LOT of gray in it, which means it would blend nicely with gray siding. On the other hand, a semi-transparent gray stain is going to let some of the wood tone and texture through anyway.
