Has anyone seen indoor gardenbeds like this before?

We have done a fair bit of research but are still yet to find someone who has done something similar with indoor gardenbeds equipped with drainage. They are fully sealed, have gentle concrete slopes, coated with 4 coats of a non toxic pond sealer and then topped with 2-3 inches of gravel. On top of the gravel is a pourus weed matting to separate the gravel from the growing medium. The drainage runs directly into the sewerage which we have approval for.We run x2 LED grow lights on timers and also a wall mounted plumbed into the mains humidifier which makes things super easy to manage. Watering is done via the garden hose that we drag inside which is done every 10-20 days depending on the time of the year.Our house is 3 stories and very open plan so circulation and ventelation is extremely good which keeps any signs of bad fungal activity at bay.Would love to hear peoples thoughts on it all.

I had these on my deck several years ago and they returned the next 3 years also. I contacted the County Extension Office and they looked at this bug and it is a form of aphid. If you watch it very carefully it will move very slowly. It fell from my maple tree unto the deck. What a mess. There was nothing I could do about it and about the end of July the cycle was over so we could again use the deck. By the way the tree was huge and full of them.

Plumeria do have the ability under managed conditions to air root like an orchid but it is not a natural habit. That looks to me like a branch which started forming but has since sealed up and been passed over for reasons unknown. Unfortunately they never amount to anything. DSP are wonderful plants and yours is very nice. its one of my favorites for its growth habits, shiny green leaves, and abundant blooms. Some say it has very little scent which may be true per flower but with the amount of blooms a mature DSP can produce all those little bits add up to a wonderful perfume scent. Great job on it. K.

Yep, you have a very beautiful double bloom variety of hibiscus. There are many types that bloom like the ones you have. In various colors too... Most i have seen are tropical though. I have not seen a hardy variety which is bred like that one. Will have to research..

I also want to check photos! By the way as an indoor gardening enthusiast, I have not only seen indoor garden beds, but I have also used them in my own setup. They are a great way to add some greenery to your living space while also creating a focal point. When it comes to lighting, here's light bar LED from, which are an excellent option for providing optimal growing conditions. They are energy-efficient, provide a full spectrum of light, and can be easily adjusted for different stages of plant growth.

Sounds like you are doing a variant of an ebb and flow system. But without the pumping that makes it hydro? What are you planning on growing in this? Depending on what you are growing, it might be wiser to do medium+plant in pot and seat it into your gravel bed rather than doing the weed mat and medium on top of the bed. At some point the bed will want refreshing or plants need removal or adding.
