IMO wall color is the last choice you make and ideally when all the floors are in the lighting is all installed and the furniture samles are avaiable .I think that color is way too yellow to have in a whole house . I would do something much more neutral and I usually think nature and use this color but cut 25% to go with basically every other color and wood you choose. I use it often in new builds where the painters want the wall color before the floors are in This is BM.

It is hard when going into a new build to choose a wall color ahead of everything else. You're not the first person to post here about this dilemma. Had you posted before choosing you would have been advised to choose something more neutral (less yellow), but what you chose is a warm color, and warm colors are popular again so hopefully not the end of the world. Don't think you need to rush in and repaint your whole house right away. You can always come back and repaint certain rooms if everything else doesn't work with the color. You did choose well for a trim color which to me is more important because no one likes to paint trim, and if you had to pay to have it repainted you would find it is the most expensive part of the job.

When you're choosing your floors look at samples next to the wall color, but if you don't like what works with it in and of itself, get something else and repaint later. Same idea with furniture. Maybe you'll find you can live with the color in some bedrooms, bathrooms or hallways. Hallways can be dark so maybe this color will be a plus there.

How everyone else reacts to the color doesn't affect anything going on in your home.

It's white paint that leans warm. Hard to go wrong with that unless you have selected all the other items in your home leaning cool in tone. I like to think this is the color of 'bleached bone' and that is a classic color that is pretty easy to work with.

I have no idea what " high reflective white trim" means. Does it mean you selected a different white in a gloss finish or you selected High Reflective White for your trim?

Hi Sydney - congratulations on the new home! I know how it is to be excited about your new place. I actually love Cheviot. I don’t have it, but my rental home is painted in a creamy white all over, similar to Cheviot. I’m happy that people are liking warming colors again. So much cozier in my non-pro opinion. kandrewspa has given you some good advice and insight.

To those who said you wouldn’t have picked this color- appreciate the opinion but since it’s already done and we don’t have a ton of money to just go spend on repainting everything we’ve already painted it’s unfortunately not conducive :-/

For the high reflective question- yes we painted trim SW high reflective white 7757.

Oddly enough- cheviot doesn’t look yellow at all right now in the home but maybe that’s bc we don’t have our furniture in their yet? Idk. Hopefully it doesn’t turn out as yellow a some of you are saying then I’ll be super upset and in debt haha

Which brings me to another point- i need help/advice with remodeling the kitchen/bathroom and decorating.. since I’m new to this app can someone please tell me if its best i ask for the advice on this thread or start a new one for all of my projects that i need help with?

Lastly- FLOORING! So we did choose the floors already and are having it installed next week we went with floors 2000- addiction 906. I would love to hear your thoughts on how this will look with cheviot! (I’ll post picture below)

Undertones are just someone's subjective opinion of what a color looks like to them under a random light source and in a random context - which is why it's subjective.

If you ask someone why a color has "X" undertone, they can't give you answer beyond it's how THEY see the color - which is why undertones aren't facts.
