garage door opener challenges

moving
last year

We have a 16x7 garage door that is on 8' rails to lift garage door over passageway door to house. The screw drive opener pulls the door first "in" before up and around the arc. This has lead to the top panel buckling. Proposed solutions are

1 - 16x7 door on 8' rails and a side mount motor
2 - 16x8 door on 8' rails and a belt drive motor

3 - 16x7 door on 7' rails but with wider arc and a belt drive motor

issues:

1 - side mount motors are more finicky and subject to needing adjustments to stay aligned

2 - outside appearance will show the top panel starting halfway below the opening and disappearing above

3 - The wider arc will lower the rail height over the passageway door to be just at the passageway door height and may create an air gap at the top of the opening as the door arcs in

Hopefully that's clearer than mud. Are we missing a solution? Any advice/thoughts?
