I second everything Andromo..... said. Plants are wonderfully adaptable. Some years ago I harvested some red junipers, to use as bonsai, growing on the side of a high sandstone bluff overlooking the Wisconsin River here. They were stunted and twisted all on their own by virtue of where they took root. They were producing berries even though they were subminiatures of their full size brethren growing on top of the bluff. Thats what plants do, they make the best of their conditions and will do anything to reproduce. As is natures way. From what I understood from the person I harvested them for, they would actually recieve better care now ensuring a longer life for them. They'd even have their roots cropped as the tops were, to make sure as Andromo said they had that "root to shoot" ratio correct. This was so they were comfortble in their small pots. Cement is 98-99% cured at 30 days (under good conditions) and again as Androm says there should be no problems if the pot has been well leeched. This discussion has got me planning a return trip now to harvest some and plant them in MY very own pots. With what I've learned here and other forums I'll even be able to make the pots resemble the yellow sandstone from where they came from.

My mother painted hers years ago. Some type of faux finish. They held up pretty well for several years, but didn't age well. My cousin helped me update her home for sale (as I live out of state). They did some kind of spray on finish. I haven't seen it in person, but it looks amazing in pictures. Almost like quartz. Even turned the bright yellow sink black. It only cost $500 for her huge kitchen and can with a lifetime guarantee. Everyone who has seen the house has told me they were surprised I spent the $$ for new countertops! I will try to find out what its called.

I asked my DH about this product and he said unless your tile is unglazed this product will not do anything to give you a sheen because you already have a glaze. I hope this makes sense. We have an unglazed tile in our guest bath and in there he applied the tile and grout sealer on the entire floor giving it a kind of satin finish. That product you are asking about if for very worn, unglazed tile.

busybee, makes a really good point. I consulted with a designer for my front living room, which we use to watch the large TV. Furniture placement is limited due to a large triple window, corner fireplace and large opening into the foyer. We had placed our old full size sofas into the room when we first moved in and the corner fireplace was a problem. Never was a fan of sectionals, but it looked like that would be the best fit for this room and the way we were using it. That designer kept insisting I should go with a sofa, loveseat and floating swivel chairs in front of the TV. In the end I followed my gut feelings and ordered a custom sized sectional (9' x 13') that fit the space exactly how I measured it out, with enough room for a side table at one end and making sure it did not crowd the fireplace at the other end. We have growing teen boys (one is 6ft) and the sectional allows 4 adults to sit very comfortably for TV watching. It can fit 7 ladies when I'm hosting something. The few things I dislike/hate are the ones I let a designer talk me into buying ... A friend let her designer take control of measuring and sizing and she ended up with an 8-person table that only seats 6 comfortably and not enough knee space at the ends for my tall friend. Their sectional also doesn't fit their family of 4.
