You can easily tie the couch to the walls with accent pillows. I’d also add a prominent color from the rest of your decor so that the entire room is cohesive.

It’s always possible to improve cohesion with patterns & prints combining 2 neutrals & especially if add a bit of color that works with each.
Will that be enough for you?
The “ gray tan” sofa looks pretty gray in the photo & carpet looks gray & maybe other chair has gray & these all seem rather cool- toned for the deep tan walls.
So you’d ask yourself, do I prefer cool gray colors but had tan walls to begin with or do I like the tan walls but didn’t expect the sofa too look so gray, etc.
It seems like new wall color would be better for the sofa if that’s doable and not opening up a huge can of worms with connected rooms.
Or if wanting a temporary fix for a few years, then do work with accessories.

I’m asking about overall color scheme, goals and paint and so in because it’s easy to drop $300 + on pillows, throws, accessories trying to blend disparate colors, especially if decor color coordination is not your superpower, so I’d save that up if your “ vision “ is something very different and yet attainable.

It is pretty hard for me to get accurate sense of colors in the photo though - not enough light. So this is just my first impression.

Sounds like you are open to a few changes, but before making one-off decisions pour through lots of inspiration rooms with accessories that reflect your colors. This will help not only with pillows or art, but if wanting to replace tables you may get some ideas. Big picture first, then drill down and you’ll end up with a more coordinated room, style wise especially.

Although wall color below is white, the colors used in room are good choices.

Also your lamp light looks very yellow in the pic— you may have tan shades or warm bulbs or both.

Note some of those inspo photos are showing tans and gray- lilac but against a more white wall. So point is to think whether you want gray+ tan IF you didn’t have the existing wall color.

In the corner/edge of your pic….looks like a good inspiration for what color to use for a tonal …accent wall…if you want more impact just go with a shade of your favorite color…as most colors will work with the neutrals there now…if you pick a bold color ..go with some pillows to tie them together

No gray walls.
Not sure accent wall will benefit vs just look choppy- since I’d go more white.
Or, use the pillow examples to echo your brown & white wood furniture pieces and find some larger, pale background art above sofa to de- emphasize the gray- in tan of sofa against the wall.

I would first change your light bulbs.. they are casting a yellow hue to the wall. get a bright white instead of soft white. it will give your things a truer color and be a brighter light but you will get used to it.

i'd pick an accent color from the couch in the foreground, maybe blue/ . and add that in accents on your gray couch. It will tie all your furniture together and take away the enphasis of the gray/tan mix.
