Help Needed for Back Entry Useful but Ugly
Comments (47)Partial update, progress is being made although not done. You're welcome ;-) We bought the vinyl lattice for under the stairs although haven't put it up yet I painted the railing and the foundation but may do the foundation again - not sure I'm on board with the color. although it isn't completely dry here and it is darkening a bit. What do you think? And no, the part that you see unpainted is staying unpainted. Because that portion of the stairwell is in direct contact with soil, it is always a bit damp and DH says the paint won't grab right - sigh. And from further back. We're looking a bit like the Clampetts at the moment. (reality check - we ALWAYS look a bit like the Clampetts)...See MoreHelp with curb appeal on this ugly flat garage on this semi Eichler
Comments (2)Thanks decoenthusiaste! I like this second idea. Would love to find the white one you're referring to because we're leaning towards going white. Do you recall what you searched up to find these ideas?...See MoreHow would you add interest to the street view of this beach house?
Comments (4)I like this teal color: Another pretty blue: Darker: Can your door be changed? If not, I’d paint it, too (matching or complimentary color). Will the weathered wood be painted, or left natural? Do whatever landscaping you can — use big colorful pots, get some cute chairs, etc. Make it look welcoming as you drive up. Just showing this one for the very attractive garage doors and lights: I don’t know what your budget is, exactly what changes you’re wanting, your decor style, etc. Ignore siding color, just showing some added details to the windows, the freshly painted railings, etc: This rendering is in a more modern direction: Ignore house, just showing some simple landscaping: Add some fun and festive decor, without going overboard. Get it? Overboard? I crack myself up. 😁...See MoreNeed a privacy solution for awful neighboring views! Please Help
Comments (26)@Denise Marchand that's a great story about meeting with the owner of the ugly ac unit and finding a solution. The business next to our neighborhood is a large complex, they won't do anything in that regard, it's really up to us homeowners to find a solution. But those images you shared are quite nice, I looked up some of those laser-cut metal panels with the pretty decorative designs, they look quite nice but are very pricey, I'm seeing prices at 100-200 bucks for even tiny 2x4 pieces, I think now I am going to stick with wood planks/pickets and put them on a standing frame and make pretty DIY wood privacy slat panels that have heavy feet and put them all along the front of this wall and let my bushes grow up onto them, they are climbers and should reach 10-11 feet tall with enough to cling to. Home depot has wood pickets for a few bucks and I think it would be the most cost feasible option, maybe also floyd's idea of using sun shade material. The creative juices are flowing, I think we're getting closer!...See Morececily 7A
