I have the 2 1/4 width random Engineered Maple in Sierra, Exclusive Grade. They look a little dark in the photos, but they are a nice warm chesnut in person. The install cost was $2.50/sq ft, but that was just the labor charge. I had the floors glued down to my concrete slab. They used Bostik's Best Adhesive and per my request they used Bostik's MVP for extra protection; I wanted to do as much as I could to protect the floor from hurricane season.:) I believe the wood cost around $8/sq ft. So, with the adhesive and moisture barier added in..it all cost just under $6000 for 500 sq ft. This left me with 1 1/2 boxes for spare. (I have a little house, only 1020 sq under air.) I used the advice from this forum and installed plywood under our kitchen cabinets and appliances (minus the frig. The height worked out perfect and the floor installers were impressed. :) I have also found a website that had good prices for Mirage Floors, but you'd have to find your own installer. At the bare minimum there webpage has a lot of good information. (They are based in FL) Well I can't post the link, but do a search in google for "hardwoodinstaller", it should come up.

How much does the flooring itself cost? The site shows what looks like a standard hardwood installation, so anyone who knows how to install a wood floor ought to be able to do it. Or you could do it yourself.

Jack Hohn, I can't comment on the Mirage floor finish, because we wound up getting another brand. However, we were looking at semi-gloss vs. matte (similar to cashmere) in a natural rift and quartersawn white oak floor, and we absolutely love the matte finish. It looks so soft and beautiful, and shows dirt and dust much less than our old floor which had a glossier finish. In the end, it's a personal preference, but I just wanted to put in my 2 cents in praise of a more matte finish. Good luck with your decision!

Hello! We ended up going with the Mirage Windsor elemental and I am happy with it! My contracter said it was great to work with and we actually ended up with quite a bit extra because they didn’t have to toss many warped or damaged planks. I will post a picture of the final product.
