last modified: last year

Hand scraping a coat of polyurathane (that's another story) added by devious contractor and years of wax from 26 yr old oak wood floors. Entry was sun damaged and the varnish is gone. About a 6' x 6' area. Could I lightly sand and apply varnish there, then coat entire floor with Restore? If so, what type varnish? Clear? Oil based? If not, what is other option? I have half the dining room still to scrape (den is done and the entry. Not bad for a 69 yr old! HELP please. Photos of damaged area in comments. second photo is scraped area in dining room.
