Off-white cabinets with bright white trim.
Comments (6)How bright is the white of the trim? Does the trim extend into the kitchen? Is it open plan? Or a separate room? If the last, don't worry about it. It doesn't matter unless it bugs you. I wanted to do all my moldings in the same white but couldn't find a good one, so I used the pure white-white (I think it was BM Superwhite) and added one part of the "Maya Brown" of my rear entry wall to twelve parts pure white. This worked so well that I did all of the white walls in 8:1 of the same, and the downstairs ceiling in 5:1. That said, can you incorporate a subtone of the eggshell/brown into the bright white?...See Moredecorators white kitchen cabinets need bright white wall/ceiling/trim
Comments (2)thank you so much for your response! The floors are quarter sawn white oak that will be stained a warm med tone walnut color. nothing too dark. I did realize when i posted this that my cabinets will touch the ceiling so I decided to go with the same white throughout most of the house on the ceilings, Decorators White. On the top floor, which is our master bedroom suite I think I'm going to use the Chantilly lace. It's a bit darker up there and I'm trying to make it as bright as possible. Thats the color of our vanity in the masterbath, so I may just do all the trim and ceilings that color. That floor is a clean break from all the other walls and trim, so it won't look like a mistake! Truthfully the place was a mess before renovation (we bought it that way) so I really just want everything clean and white!! I may end up doing what you suggested with the walls...still wishing for white, but don't I can steer away from the Decorators white without making the cabinets look dingy....See MoreBright white trim and off white cabinets
Comments (19)Thank you everyone for the suggestions so far! I think I will definitely paint the walls a soft white or something between the white and cream. I never liked the green but couldn’t decide on a color so I’ve left it since we moved in a few months ago. The countertops have the backsplash thing attached so I’m going to try to see if I can remove that to put my own in. If I can’t remove it would it look ridiculous to do some small tiles above it between that and the upper cabinets? This is our first house and we don’t really have the budget to do new countertops or replace any cabinets so that’s not really in the picture. I’m just trying to make it look a little better! We have to keep the island because it has storage and we don’t have much of that. We also use it a ton for cooking. I don’t want to paint the trim to match the cabinets because all the trim in the rest of the house is white including the dining room which is open to the kitchen....See MorePaint Ceiling off-white / creamy [SW Alabaster]. Will it affect Cans?
Comments (19)We recently painted all the living areas Alabaster in our home and did regular white ceiling paint on the ceilings. The crisp white ceiling does make the yellow tones in Alabaster more obvious during daylight. Just keep that in mind. Alabaster needs a warmer white on the ceilings. I would just paint it Alabaster though. Can't go wrong there. Like mentioned before, you can always paint the cans if they bother you....See Moretrinity_2010
