I have a pair of 8300's on pedestals. You can easily remove the pedestal drawer and then it is childÂs play to get to and adjust all the legs and set the locknuts. After getting the level perfect I "fine tuned" it by running a load and adjusting one leg slightly to minimize vibration. The level was still perfect. However, I still notice what I would call excessive vibration. Tonight the wife washed a load of jeans on during the final spin the washer was vibrating 1/2 inch (What I mean is that I could place my hand until it would hit it as it shook and there was about a 1/2 inch of movement) I have to wonder if that is normal or not. My Lowes installers (I would call them delivery boys rather than installers) slid our washer in place, did not level it at all, did not set the lock nuts, nothing, just adjusted one leg until the thing didnÂt tip back and forth, then ran the drain and spin cycle and noted how smooth it was running. Well DUH, with no clothes to throw it off it should be smooth as silk I would hope. It was just easier to wait until they left and do it myself as I will take however long is needed to get it right. I just wish I had a benchmark to know how much is too much vibration.

Chris, portable dishwashers do not sit on the counter. They can be as big as regular dishwashers, though usually they are smaller. You keep it somewhere in your kitchen or perhaps adjacent laundry room and when you're ready to do dishes you roll it over to the kitchen sink and hook up the hose to the faucet. Look online on the Sears appliances site; they have several models. You're thinking of countertop dishwashers, which I think Sears might carry too. They aren't too "portable" because they're heavy. My family's first dishwasher, when I was 11 or 12, was a portable. agmss15, if I were you, I'd go with the new Amana. I had a portable for two years when I lived in Mexico and I hated it. For one thing, when the machine is in use, you obviously cannot use your kitchen sink/faucet for anything else. Second, since the dirty water then goes down your kitchen sink drain, if your drain gets at all clogged, the dirty water backs up and you have a mess. If it all goes fine, you are still left with a dirty sink full of residue that you have to clean. Third, a couple of times the drain hose somehow got out of the sink and water went everywhere! You cannot leave your house when you're washing because if something goes wrong, you could come home to a flood and a lot of damage. I'd go with the mini Amana because a) while it's a new model, it's still a washing machine and Amana has been making them for decades. b) Amana is a well known and trusted brand with good customer service. c) who knows what you're getting with second hand? Yeah, you'll have to wait a couple of months, but in my opinion it will be worth the wait, because you'll save yourself tons of hassle over dealing with a used portable. I'd check online with the big box stores to see if you can get a better price over the local appliance store. Just my two cents'. :-)

Cart would be nice but the door molding is in the way there. I guess I would just need some basic shelves, but I'm just not sure the best way to mount them to maximize the space and retain the ability to easily remove them if needed. I'm imagining a floating shelf style, but instead of sliding the shelf on to the bracket that is mounted to the wall, the shelf can just be placed on top and secured with a screw coming from under. Or a floating shelf affixed to the wall via a hinge that could be rotated upwards, but the hinge would stop it from going downwards. Just need to keep in mind something that could support the weight of detergent and actually find if something like that exists or would work!
