There's no other room to use as a bedroom???

Can you post a sketched floorplan, showing measurements and the locations of all doors and windows? We'll see what we can do!

Floor plan would help, but what kind of bed do you have? I ould suggest a a fold out sleeper, or daybed that can double as a sofa even if this is not your living area.

Sorry the pictures weren’t helpful. There is another room I could use technically but it’s much bigger than this room and it felt weird to have my bed in there because I wouldn’t know what else to put in that space with it. I don’t have a floor plan or measurements but I drew out where doors and windows are. The x is currently where I have my bed. It a queen sized bed and the headboard is against the window.

My goodness, please put your bed in the much larger room rather than in this room where you enter. It makes a ton more sense. I have a big bedroom and in it I have a desk area and a reading area. Depending on how you center your queen bed and what other furniture you have or would want to buy you can make it look full enough.

IMO that is not a floor plan post a to scale floor plan of the whole main floor of the house . This is ridiculous to have a bedroom at the entry to a house so I need to see the whole plan.

We need a floor plan with dimensions and showing windows, door(s) and hallway, the one you posted doesn't give enough information.

Hi Allison, it sounds like you want to make the best use of your spaces. From the viewpoint of guests & visitors, it would make more sense to have them enter into a common area (living room) rather than private space (bedroom). This way, your bedroom is your sanctuary and retreat. So, use that large room to create a place that you will love. Maybe add a big comfy reading chair, a vanity by a window, some plants and decor, pretty bedding. I can’t wait to see how your bedroom turns out!! Please post progress pictures

Question: where is your living room in this house? Still no dimensions so difficult to suggest anything constructive but perhaps the living room would be a better use of the space where the entrance door is located.

If it's too much trouble to post a floor plan of the entire house, then your "constructive advice" will be very limited.

If you are new to all of this then a to scale floor plan sounds rather intimidating. You can just draw a "stick figure" version like the one you posted originally but just include all of the rooms in your house. It is helpful if for things like a door or window you draw a little square and write in what it is. That way it helps us to figure out a bit more about what and how much can fit in your space.

Also, is it just you or do you live with other people? What furniture do you already own? What kinds of activities do you do at home and what rooms do you want to do it in?

It sounds like tyou are using the intended living room as your bedroom. I can't imagine parading guests through my bedroom. There must be another room to use as a bedroom. Usually bedrroms have a closet. Perhaps you raassess the rooms in your house.
