Is there a way to make this chair higher or am I just dreaming ? Need 3-4”. There is no other room and I would be prepared for some adjustments since I would not get very much selling it

Just can't locate a fabricator with a taller brass swivel base. Maybe you can thrift one.

Remove the swivel base and replace it with four legs.

Could you add legs to the base? Or even a round 4" tall base of some kind, to attach to the existing base? What is the diameter of the base?

The chair swivels - the bottom - metal base does not move. Do you think i could attach legs to the bottom of the metal base?

Partim - i am intrigued by the possibility of adding a 4” tall base to attach to the existing base. Would it look strange or would i put it further in and it would appear to be a “floating chair” ?
Yes - there is enough wood to be able to add legs to the base but would that look “home made patchy” instead of sleek and lovely. I did love the chair but now i thank you for your help to make it serviceable.

Wondering if you could get a carpenter to add a nice circular wood base below the current one that is the thickness height needed, and would be slightly bigger than the gold so it looks intentional. Perhaps finish the wood base with a stain or a glossy black.

I agree with Beverly - find a way to make the chair higher. Legs are a possibility. Adding another section to the base might also work especially if the added base is wide and provides enough stability. Good luck!

You cannot recess another circular base and expect the chair not to tip.

I wouldn't necessarily pair it with a chair and a half, but there's nothing the matter with an extra, small chair somewhere.

Palimpsest, I thought that all furniture needed to be to same scale or height. It is not a small chair just very low! Does that not highlight that it is a purchase error to everyone in the room?
