I’m not sure what part of the country you’re in I’m in Massachusetts and they didn’t even offer a pewter here but they did offer pewterwood which is like a dark gray. Moire Black is black with a little shading. I also had the hardest time in the world it actually caused me so much stress that I think I just gave in to Certainteed charcoal. I did want a contrast between a light colored body house and a dark roof so we did charcoal and Cape cod gray Maibec shingles and I am happy with it. However after I did mine I had seen Georgetown gray on some roofs which is lighter than pewterwood it’s on the gray side with a little bit of green or blue in the background of it. The color variants are very subtle and nice they don’t stand out it is a gray roof if you like something lighter. Keep in mind when selecting certainteed that certain teed pro and premium the colors are basically the same but regular Certainteed shingles the colors are different from the upgraded shingles even if the name is the same. It’s a little tricky.

A dark grey roof is a dream to work with IMO. Rarely is the roof a complete flat gray. There are often speckles of other colors that you don't really notice until you get some color on the house. Grey roofs can be pulled so many color directions so easily. If you've tested your color out side on the house, evaluated how it ties into the roof and you don't see or feel anything glaring or out of harmony, I bet you'll be okay with your creamy color selection.

I know what you mean, we do like the color that is on it now, but would like something a little different to look at.....it sure is hard to choose....in the brown family there are so many! We found an aged redwood color we kinda like will have to see what it looks like on an actual shingle to know for sure....I know any brown would work, and being the house is really a neutral color it shouldn't be as hard as I am making it....just don't want to make a BIG mistake!!! I would also spray paint the star a rusty red so it will show more. It really doesn't stand out on the brick in it's current color which looks more copper in the picture. (the copper is pretty but you need red there) I would also consider opening the bed up in front of the stairs to add flowers as well. The house is beautiful, but the landscape is what's lacking. I would actually post a thread in the landscape forum to get some ideas of how you can build the landscape up a little. Put a plan together and just do a little bit every season..
