I grow Jalapeno, Chile Grande, Cubanelle, Hungarian Yellow Wax, New Mex Sunrise, Colossal, California Wonder, Diamond, Golden California Wonder, Orange Sun, and Purple Beauty. In separate containers on a Deck. When my peppers start looking like the ones in the above photos it's because I haven't watered them enough. They all seem to require more water during periods of long, hot, days Regardless of variety. When watered and moved into the shade for a day they come right back. I'm not saying they can't show similar symptoms due to over watering, It's just that mine always wilt pretty much in unison With all varieties showing similar symptoms within hours of each other. ~Ken~

Caelian, very good eyes. surprised anyone would notice that. The second row in the first picture is Aswad Eggplant. First year growing them, Iraqi variety that can weigh well over 3 pounds... well see I'm keeping my fingers cross on them. If they do well I'll share the seeds with who ever wants them. Caelian, please tell me all your plant are not gone? You worked so hard on them. jifjifjif, I keep staring a my pepper plants too. The heat coming off the supper hots may eventually blind me but at least I can still taste them. Mmm Mmm can't wait for that sweet heat! I'm guna pickle, roast, dry, stuff and bake, powder, grill and smoke em. Any thing else I may have missed.. Oh Yea eat them right off the plant. Going to go to Cross Country Nurseries soon.. andyroo, Nice variety of peppers that you have there. I have about a 15 day head start on you and my peppers are about 5 inches tall. When I'm growing peppers, or any plants from seed, I always want to make sure that they never dry out, because this is deadly for younger plants. I start all of my seeds in Jiffy Pellets and put them inside one of those plastic domes, they provide great moisture. My sprouts stay in there until their little leaves start hitting the roof. Once out they go into 3 & 1/2 inch pots similar to the ones you are using and I continue to make sure that they donÂt dry out (it got real cold here this past week so we had the heat on and I found myself having to check my plants every 12 hours or so because the heat was drying them out real fast). My other big concern is that my plants are as close to the light as I can get them, in fact some of my bigger plants are now touching the light and it never seems to hurt them. How old are your bulbs? I ask this because my bulbs were at least 4 years old at the beginning of the growing season. I started some Morning Glories under those bulbs and they started to look real leggy, so I went out and got a new set of bulbs & this did wonders. My Morning Glories really started to take off and everything else has been doing real well also. What ever you decide I wouldn't worry too much because once the peppers get out into the real sun they're bound to go gangbusters. Peppers are real hardy and I've never had any trouble once I got them outdoors. Best of luck to you & keep growing those peppers plants.

The reason they are producing so early is because they have stressed by conditions, probably before they were planted, so they go into survival mode and make some seeds early. I always choose the plants without flower buds at the nursery, then they grow more normally, not sure of your situation. As said you could pinch off the early peppers in the hope that plant will get bigger and more productive in summer. Or you could let them grow to eatable stage but pick them quickly, don't let them sit there and ripen, and your plant will still be fine if growing conditions are good.
