OK, I see your plight! Clorox 2 is excellent for removing most stains and boosting the power of your detergent. On your samsung, do you have a sanitize cycle? Does it Pre-wash before the main wash? In most cases it should go into the main wash/no pre wash when using this cycle. Extend this cycle to the max with an extra rinse. Use your Tide He along with Clorox 2 to start the whitening process using the sanitize cycle. You may use LCB since it will be in the first rinse. It Will take up to 3 wash cycles to see improvement. Also if you can get your hands on STPP this will also help getting your whites to where they suppose to be. 2 Tbs. of this stuff with your detergent will make a big difference how detergents suppose to work. Give it a try! The secret for using Clorox 2. Test garment for color fast to start. Pour on stains and rub in gently then pour a little more and roll garment into a ball so Clorox 2 will not dry out and wait 15-30 minutes then wash as normal. I have a Maytag Bravos washer. I use both powder and liquid detergents, depending on the type laundry I wash and wash temp. I always use liquid detergents when washing laundry in cold water, as powders don't seem to dissolve as well in cold water. When I wash white/light delicates in cold water, I use Woolite HE liquid detergent (I've been using a BIG bottle I got at BJ's warehouse store on sale and w/a coupon, and I still have more than half the bottle). When I wash sturdier whites/light clothes which must be washed in cold water, I use Tide HE w/bleach liquid. I wash comforters and blankets in cold or warm water w/liquid detergent. When washing laundry in warm water, it depends on what I'm washing. I prefer liquid detergents for dark clothes. I really like Woolite for Darks, but it is hard to find in an HE formula, and I cannot find Cheer HE for Darks anymore, so I usually use Tide HE Total Care. It works well. I generally use powdered detergent when I wash in hot water, as I think it performs best in hot water. I always wash towels and white cottons like guys' socks, undies, and T-shirts in hot water (sometimes sheets). I do like to use ERA HE liquid on dirty/greasy jeans and other such laundry. It sounds like I have a veritable store of detergents, LOL. I've "collected" them over the last couple of years, buying most of them at BJ's in great big sizes that last for months and months. When one runs out, I look for one of these on sale and almost always use coupons too.

No disadvantages are mentioned :-) Nevertheless the rest of the cleaning101.com site is also worth exploring. Personally, I don't see how one can accurately measure the new concentrated liquids, since they're so thick and the dosages are so small. Sept. 2009 issue of Consumer Reports had an article entitled "Shake, rattle, and squeeze: How much is left in that container?" They "emptied one of each product in the usual way, waited a few days for the remains to settle, and poured, squeezed, shook and tapped as much as any frugal but rational consumer might." Liquid detergents tested were All and Tide, concentration not mentioned. 7-16% of the contents were left behind in the bottle. Pesky1, you bring up an excellent point on saving money. Sometimes it's just plain best to go with what works best regardless of the price. Trying other stuff can be expensive and frustrating. I don't have issues with laundry so for me I go with the cheapest. I have real issues with people buying the specialized brands for 50¢-$1.50 per load and trying to tell me it's cheaper than store brands! My clothes are clean, don't smell and I'm wearing jeans from 15 years ago. All this from cheap detergent and in a 26 year old top loader that those on the laundry forum want to call "clothes shredders"! LOL Just goes to show that sometimes people get a little exaggerated in their claims and defense of what they like. Back to what I was saying. I gave up on buying "bargain brand" dish soap. Simply because Dawn & Joy do the best job for me, at a reasonable price. I've also had to throw away too much of the other stuff I tried with the intention of saving money. Again, sometimes the better stuff is the better buy. Happy bargaining everyone!
