Granite counter - faucet holes
Comments (5)Before drilling any holes you should have everything you plan to install...they need to know not just how many holes, but what size, and where you want them placed. Get everything now, before drilling... faucet, if you decide to go with one, soap dispenser(s) [some people put in one for hand soap & one for dish soap] again if you need & want one, airswitch for the Garbage Disposal. Granted, most faucet holes are standard, but what if you select one that's different? If you're trying to minimize the # of holes in your granite, consider a pull out or pull down faucet w/the handle on the faucet...only one hole needed! (Personally, I prefer a pull out or pull down spray to a side spray, but that's my personal preference...you may not agree.) HTH! Good luck!...See Moresize of hole drilled on your granite counter
Comments (1)Most kitchen and bath faucets require a 1-3/8" drilled hole (as do soap dispensers, etc.), but this can vary by manufacturer. The Install Instructions or Specs should say what size hole to drill for your countertop fixtures. You do NOT want extra wiggle room at these connections. Remember, if you have a plywood underdeck, make the hole in the wood bigger than the hole in the stone. The faucet needs to be connected (screwed) to ONLY stone. (Otherwise your faucet will wiggle in time.)...See MoreHow many holes to drill into kitchen granite countertop?
Comments (16)It is ENTIRELY your preference. Some people wind up with setups like this... Others with very minimalist setups... Really up to you. I decided on a faucet with a pull-down sprayer, after having nothing but a side sprayer. So far, I like it. Does take some getting used to. I also have a good soap pump, (Kraus - it doesn't clog and is never messy) - I hate having to have dishsoap sitting on the counter. So I had 2 holes drilled. Much much cleaner looking than my old sink....See Morefaucet hole drilled too close to backsplash in quartz countertop
Comments (15)Thank you to everyone who responded, very much appreciate your iput. The owners of the company agreed to replace the counter at their cost and do it correctly - this was achieved only because we could back up our claims of an incorrect install based on the information provided by you all! Sammy - unfortunately, my sister lost her two dogs and cat in the fire; she was not home. The cause of the fire was the slight reverberations of the built-in microwave caused a screw in the mounting bracket to slowly over time rub the the casing off an electrical wire in the wall; the fire investigator had never seen this before and is now using this in their training. She would trade all of her possessions to have her pets back, a year later it's still devastating for her to have lost them. Again thanks to all and hope everyone has a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous New Year!...See Moreislandlife17
