Comparing the colors with the old cabinets in view is making it more difficult for you to envision things. Do you have a white blanket or even a drop cloth you can cover them with? Or put them against the fridge. If you’re changing countertops (and flooring?) just put those elements together for comparison with the old cabinets covered. View one painted door at a time with the countertops and flooring.

Going white will make a world of difference from the red tones you have now. The last three options lean more yellow than the first three. Pure White is my favorite for painted millwork. It just seems to work with almost everything. It is not a super bright white, but it doesn’t usually appear yellow.

What is the flooring in the rooms adjacent to the kitchen? I prefer the floors you have now

If budget allows, address the lack of lighting in the room first. Seems there is only can lights on the perimeter and could enhance if more added in the middle. Selections should be made after lighting is addressed. But surely, transitioning to white cabinetry will be beautiful!

Thank you Susie! Yes the flooring is changing to the hickory in the picture and will go through the whole house. The lighting is perimeter and not in budget to change so we figured white cabinets and counters with lighter flooring would brighten up the place.

So which one(s) do you like best now that you have eliminated the background? I like the first two better than than the third (can’t read the names). But seeing them in person is most important. The camera doesn’t pick up all the hues that our eyes can see.

Waht are the counters now? They look like granite. Lighting up a space is actually not a big deal you add ,ighting and change the bulbs you have to LED 4000K and then you choose cabinet color. Ift hose counters are granitte IMO changing those to fake plastic stone is a step down for timeless. Timelss went out the window with the staggered cabinret height but I like the flooring and change those pednats and maybe add one track light with 5 heads also LED the power for that is easy for an electrician to do.When the time comes get a counter depth fridge too.

i think its very difficult to see the variations on the computer... i would get a sample of the exact counter you are using and try to match the counters to it. you have much more options with paint than counter.

if u pick a 'cool' tone counter and a 'warm' paint, it will clash and that is not visually appealing.

pick your counter top, then cab color!

bring sample cab doors to the store if u have to, to get an accurate accessment. but best option is to get counter in your kitchen, with your lighting - natural and artificial.

Nothing will brighten up that dark kitchen, except new lighting. Put your money into the lighting, and the floors, and countertops, and once thats all done, you can have the cabinets painted later. Lighting is the most important thing, you can do, and should be priority 1.

agree with lighting improvements. Is there something wrong with cabinet finish? its possible the uppers only in a white paint might give you the solution if lighting upgrade isnt enough. Swapping doors to seeded glass would be another solution using the existing finish ...or with white on the tops get the new frames ready for glass and then you get an easy exact match to a white of your choice. ..... Remove the cabinets around the window. You have many cabinets ...this would not be a sacrifice. In general its hard to see what you have. do you NEED new floors ? do you NEED new counters? does the cabinet finish NEED to be redone? those answers arent clear...one thing is clear you NEED better lighting. Your project scope is all things /very expensive and leaving out the one key thing.

I also agree to get the lighting correct and not choose colors/finishes that could make up for some of the lack of proper lighting. Get together with a lighting designer, and then choose what you love so you aren't just stuck with white on white.

Sorry but most over, you need a lighting plan, going through all these changes and not addressing the real issue is going to leave you in the shadows. Its not really about budget, adding recessed lighting is not overly expensive, but i will tell you this if you spend the money, budget for lighting.

Echoing the need for more recessed lighting. You’ll be amazed at the difference that will make.

Timeless is not staggered cabinets. Unless you fix the uneven cabs, no amount of paint will make your kitchen ”timeless” or ”modern.”

Plus, your lower cabs lack the drawer stacks of today’s kitchens. Drawers are way more convenient and functional, than doors with shelves inside…or even doors with pullouts. Look at current pics of kitchens. Lower drawers is what you’ll see, except perhaps, under the sink. Though, I have drawers even under my main sink.

Also, fake marble counters will never be timeless. Ubiquitous, yes. But, not timeless. Timeless is the depth and beauty of real marble.

The wood floors you have now, are way nicer than the hickory samples with the grayish undertones. Your present floors can be refinished, and stained in whatever shade you prefer. The site finished white oak will stand the test of time, which the engineered hickory won’t.

Timeless is not a hulking fridge standing very proud of the cabinets…with magnetic doodads stuck on it.

Timeless is not a garbage pail sitting on the floor, next to the fridge.

Timeless is not a smokestack hood, with a flat bottom.

I second the recommendation to fix the lighting and refinish the floors. You have existing ceiling lights (and their wiring) so adding additional recessed lights may be pretty easy. I had my white oak floors sanded and finished with Bona ClassicSeal and it looks great and Bona MegaOne. You can go lighter with NaturalSeal and NordicSeal.

Hate to pile on, but putting in that particular Silestone will shout 2020.

Thank you everyone for the input. @darbuka If I had a large budget the cabinets would not be painted but replaced. The new hickory flooring is hardwood not engineered and will be replacing the whole main floor. There's carpet that requires removal and we are unable to match existing Brazilian Cherry Wood Floor.

While I get we have a lot of work that needs to done to achieve my desired look. We have to do things in stages.

I will take note of all the tips!
