Need Inspiration for Bedroom Wall Art
Comments (56)Something I did in my guest bedroom while waiting for the perfect pieces of art was to get a photo calendar with pictures I like and buy some simple black frames. I had a set of four, looked pretty good. The one I had was Japanese watercolor art. Later, I bought two large beach watercolors. I love the beach and I found having beach pictures in the bedroom very relaxing! I like landscapes, but if you don't, then by all means don't. I had some landscapes in my bedroom, but moody ones. One was a cabin glowing with firelight covered by a huge amount of snow illuminated pink by a sunset. Just the perfect spot I would have liked to be and since the snow made it impossible to get in or out of the place, it just evoked peace and relaxation or me. To a Floridian it might have been a living nightmare, lol. Later it was a little homestead cabin on top of a hill, a woodcut. When I went full on beach in one room, I had the typical tropical desert island scene, which also says relax, no interruptions. Landscapes can be very abstract too, my friend's daughter does very abstract landscapes. I'm not trying to sell her stuff, just including a link because I think she does beautiful work and it's a good example of "out of the box" landscapes. Might be too casual for your taste, but who knows, http://emiliesart.blogspot.com/p/gallery-shop.html I also loved metal wall art, and botanical prints. I would love some kind of sculpture made to look like tree branches, but again, that's just me....See MoreHelp with artwork and accent colour in guest bedroom
Comments (29)ok, moved some things around. Again, sorry for the bad pictures, the lighting was not the best but I just won't have a chance to do this for the next week. The wall with the mirror has the doorway in it so I actually lose space. Then the main walkway would be right next to the bed. The other wall with what looks to be a dresser (small bookcase) has closet doors and inswing of entry door. So the beds are best on the wall they are on. I put the large picture where the mirror was originally. Beds separated with same tables with table lamps and mirror moved Table in between beds with a chair in the corner which could be replaced with a long narrow table or floating shelf. That's about the furthest that I want to block the windows as we're on acreage and have a nice view I even tried the small prints above the headboards but they don't work for me. Cawaps, thank you for the mock up. I think I'm still leaning towards oval frames if I can find ones I like. 1 pinkmountain, lol. Thank you again, everyone....See MorePlease help with bedroom art

Comments (16)Thanks @loobab! That bedding has turned out to be perfect in every way. It has become the inspiration for the whole house color palette. As often happens with decorating projects, I now have a new problem to solve. I have no place to put all those decorative pillows at night. There’s no other furniture in the room besides the bed and nightstands. Adding a bench at the foot of the bed seems silly with all that space on the sides to work with. A chair would be nice, but what else to put with it? I don’t need or want a dresser. And we don’t watch tv in that room, so a media console isn’t relevant. I fear just plopping a chair in one corner won’t be enough. Please help!...See Moreemily9972
