Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Different finish for Bathroom vanity and linen cabinet

Looking at a maple single sink 60" vanity with white quartz countertop along the right side wall of the bathroom. On the left side, tucked behind the door into the bathroom will be a 30" white linen cabinet. Vanity and cabinet doors will be very similar style. Beside the linen cabinet will be a white freestanding tub and along the back wall the shower with mainly white 24 x 24 tiles on the wall? Wondering about the maple finish on the vanity and the white cabinet- would love some thoughts?

We need pictures of all the things you describe . There is no way for us to work with only some vague descriptions. Is this space connected to the primary bedroom? Do you really have the space for a FS tubthey look best in huge bathrooms and you do need 12" all around for sure . Post the pics here in a commnet do not start another post . It also is helpful to post a to scale floor plan so we get a real feel for the space . Show all the measurements , windows, doorways and if this is connected to the primary we need pics of the bedroom . Post all of this here , do not start another post .

I suggest that you should do a lighter stain in the bathrooms that will blend in with the doors and trim. That stain will be automatically adjust to the current look around it. You can say that its part of the design. Any of the option will do but I guess this is better. That's only my opinion. Orange peel is typically the result of improper painting technique, and is caused by the quick evaporation of thinner, incorrect spray gun setup (e.g., low air pressure or incorrect nozzle), spraying the paint at an angle other than perpendicular, or applying excessive paint. Staining maple is problematic. Maple blotches easily, meaning getting even color is difficult. As much as I dislike gel stains(they are basically just modified paint), a gel stain for your situation may be the best short term solution. Try to find a cabinet shop or even a paint shop--some auto shops have people who can do wood.

Sorry for reviving a 5 year old thread and for hijacking it too... thought it would be better etiquette than starting a new thread on the same topic since I need advice for a similar issue. I've been very neglectful and careless with the oak vanity in my bathroom. The finish on the doors and panels that get water dripped on them is now almost completely off in some spots and the bare wood is exposed. I don't have time to DIY restore them nor do I have the funds to get them professionally restored (gotta pay for then pay off my upcoming kitchen reno first). Is there anything I can apply to protect the wood until I can restore it? This likely won't happen for several years. I've used a homemade beeswax & olive oil wood "polish" to restore wooden items like utensils and bowls. Would it be OK to use that on the vanity? I've done some reading up on how to care for wood floors and I know waxes are a no no, if I ever want to refinish the floors so I'm guessing the same applies to wood vanities.

I agree with Cpartist"s layout and like moving the closet over as suggested by D M so that bedroom 3 has easier access to the bathroom. Do you have room to have the toilet face the tub and add a linen cabinet next to the toilet? How wide is the tub toilet area?
